Guest guest
My 8mo twin boys had their casts made on Wed - - not fun! They both screamed the whole time. Anyway - I am having a hard time finding out if I can paint the DOC band or not. Some info says to paint and varnish and I have also heard that the paint will not stick to the plastic. Help please. Ideas? Thanks , Dallas Plagio
Guest guest
Hi there My daughter doesn't have a DOCband, so I can't answer specifically for that band, but just to say stickers are fab too! I put little butterflystickers all over my helmet, and I've had loads of positive comments. With two boys, the possibilities are endless and it may take less time than painting two helmets...I've seen bands for boys with Finding Nemo stickers, trucks and lorries, all kinds of things. I'm sure some US mums will chime in with suggetions on where the best place is to go for stickers. Guest guest
: We painted my son's DOC band 2 weeks ago, and so far so good. We put a blown up balloon inside the band and then taped it up REALLY good. We then used a plastic spray primer (2 coats), followed by 2 coats of spray paint. We put window clings over the paint (we couldn't find stickers) and then we used 2 coats of mod podge over that, followed by a light coat of spray polyurethane because the mod podge still felt tacky. We used a blow dryer on low between coats to speed up the drying process. Good luck with the bands for your boys. I think the casting was the worst part of the process, and they shouldn't mind the bands much. Braden doesn't even know he's wearing it. Guest guest
Hi there With my daughter's band I did mod podge, then stickers, and then another few coats of mod podge on it. It was very clean, and easy to change themes.
