Guest guest
> No my temps are not usually stable. For instance yesterday: 97.8 on wakening, then 97.8. 97.9, 97.8. 98.7 other days: 97.6, 97.1, 97.6, 97.6, 97.9, 98.1 97.6, 97.7, 97.7, 98.5, 97.9, I take them every two hours or so. They are low and when it goes up it's usually after a dose of Armour. These were on 20mg of HC and now I have no more HC because my doctor wants me down to 5mg, so I'm supplementing with some isocort. Should I not go up 5mcg more to 15mcg of T if my temps look like the above? > > If your temps are stable and you feel hypo, go for it. Guest guest
No my temps are not usually stable. For instance yesterday: 97.8 on wakening, then 97.8. 97.9, 97.8. 98.7 other days: 97.6, 97.1, 97.6, 97.6, 97.9, 98.1 97.6, 97.7, 97.7, 98.5, 97.9, BUT these are nto the average for each day that we are looking at. You are trying to get tems during the day stable and that is not possible. Temps are supposed to fluctuate each day from lowest int he AM topeaking inthe afternoon to oging bakc down late evneing,. You need THREE temps a day OPNLY first whne you have ben awake 3 hours, thne in thre hours thne three hours. Sa if you gte up at 8am, taketemps 11am, 2PM 5PM. ADD those three temps together an divide by three. THAT is your daily average. Do this eveyr day for a week,. Compare the daily average to the next daily average ONLY. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
For 5 days last week my averages for the day after taking it 3x a day a few hours apart were: 98.3, 98.2, 97.8, 98.0, 98.0 I was taking 15-20mg of HC a day, and 45mg of Armour and 10mcg of Cytomel. Another poster I know who works for a doctor said that I may never have needed HC at all and now that I've started it, I could be worse. My initial 8 am blood cortisol was 17 and 3 doctors said that was a good level but the 4th who gave me the Armour put me on 5-10mg HC only. I went up on my own after doing this weekly average temperature taking like above and getting varied temps. Well the temps are still the same even up to 20mg so I'm starting to wonder now about this HC. I did have a very low ACTH of 9 but the cortisol level wasn't bad. I'm worried I may never have needed it to begin with. I have usually felt easily irritated, startled, and low tolerance, especially in the mornings and I used that as symptoms of low cortisol when I was told on a few boards that I am most likely hypopituitary and secondary adrenal insufficiency with cortisol at 17 and ACTH at 9. Now I'm really beginnning to wonder if I messed my self up further taking the HC. I've also gained more weight, especially in my stomach. And my DHEA tanked which I'm finding out now is due to taking HC. I'm dazed and confused, as always. > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV > > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ >
Guest guest
If ti si any consolation, I have been moderating adrneal lists for abut 5 years now and have not sdeen 15mg help butmaybe 1-2 people in all that time. MOST need 30-35 mg and that is women, men need mroe. Look at Thierry Hertoghe;'s dosing schedules an dyou will see why most are nto healing their adrneals. I plpayed owht 20mg for 1o months no good, thne went to 30mg an dlost a bunch of weight nad felt great till I crashed my adnrelas wiht a huge stressor Idid not stress dose for, thne all together after 3.5 years on HC my doc talked m einto going ot 40mg. In side of 3 months I was able to taper off the HC and have bene ife ever since. 8+ months later. So getting enough ot allow the adrneals to heal was exactyl what I needed and what I ahve seen iwht others that have healed their afdrneals as well. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
30-35mg?. Wow. I have Thierry's book. I'll go back and take a look into it. I have Jeffries books, and almost every thyroid book that has come out too. Yet, I'm still scared. Maybe it's because a few doctors told me no and one said yes, but only to a little that I feel nervous about it. For now I only have 30 pills for the month because the doctor told me to go down to 5mg. I'm using Isocort in place of the missing doses I was previously taking. How strong is the isocort? Are 2 pellets = to 5mg of HC. Or should I go 3 pellete. I can order it online though I suppose. But I'm going to try one more doctor that came recommended and see what he has to say about my mess that I'm in. Isocort okay in the meantime? Guest guest
Isocort is fine to fill in but even ti is weaker than we originally thought. I would say 3 pellets for 5mg HC. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
TY, . I will use that until I get my hands on more. Someone told me that the generic cortisone, hydrocortisone is not strong and does not work as well as Cortef. Have you heard this?

Guest guest
Val, I just read your post and looked at hertogh's schedule. It shows the dose for moderate adrenal deficiency: 15-10-5 and severe: 20-10-5-5. I had thought we weren't supposed to go over 10 first thing in the morning? I am wondering if I need more adrenal support. Still have that whiteness around the mouth. I am having a heck of a time getting temps. I run high anyways and now with the heat its even worse. Is there any other way besides temps to gauge the room for increasing? What you said makes a lot of sense. If I am not getting enough and somewhat sitting on the fence then it may be harder to heal. I am currently taking 27.5 dosed 10-10-5-2.5. Also I was reading about d3 and b12 making hypoadrenalism worse? I was very low d and so I've been taking 6000 d3. Is this not okay? Guest guest
I still do not liek to dose over 10mg in one dose but for the folks that need moe than that I usually suggest takin 12mg thnein 2 hours taking more. this way they are nto overly supressing their OWN coritls produxction just to make the quota for the morning. I am not sure what you mean about D2 and B12.. I tok B12 all through my adnral healing and still take ti every day and I have taken D3 for about the last year and a half wiht no problems. I take 10000 IU of D3 every day fo rth elast 6 months to finally bring me up to 60.. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/

Now I understand. Since I switched to T3 only I am feeling a world of difference in only a short time. I was starting to think that nothing was going to help. Guest guest
I have had off and on elevated liver enzymes as well. I went to a specialist and they ran tests for all sorts of things, ultrasound, etc. and came to the conclusion that it was viral or gallbladder irritation or they " just don't know at this point " . I am the same - don't drink or take other types of drugs. I had been thinking my thyroid issues were connected and perhaps causing it as I have heard of people with thyroid stuff getting gallbladder problems. Now I am wondering if it was the other way around - a liver/gallbladder issue causing reverse t3? Maybe I will try the milk thistle too. Thanks, > > I was told I had a high ALT in my last doc visit and she couldn't > figure out why since I don't drink or take other types of drugs. Now > I understand. Guest guest
I tried milk thistle but it is related to the ragweed family and gave me other problems because I have a ragweed allergy. Maybe I should give it another try though because at the time I was taking other meds that could have been causing the problem also. Gosh, I would be so grateful if it did help. My doctor just keeps watching the numbers and never does anything further. This is been going on for a couple of years. Guest guest
I have horrible allergies too but I'm not bothered by Milk Thistle at all. I also do some homeopathics for dust, mold and animal dander and this helps me. I've done the pollen homeopathics one too. I believe going off of Armour has helped my allergies 100%. I used to not be able to breath at night and since switching I can breath much easier for the first time in a year and no more sinus headaches.
