Guest guest
Well today I got my letter of medical necc from the Ped after bugging them for 3 days. I faxed that along with the prescription to Cranial Tech. I got a call back from Cranial tech 15 minutes later saying they approved the band for 90%. It was covered as an in plan procedure because my Ped is in the plan and that is who wrote the letter of med necc. My daughter also had tort from birth and had gone to a couple of specialists for that. The letter of Med necc. was pretty specific to my daughters earlier treatment and was not just a Sample letter. I was worried about being denied as it seems so many bands were denied for many different reasons. I am glad I got over this hurdle with out to much trouble. I hope this will help ease the minds of some of you fellow New Jersians that have BCBS. Looks like they may have came around and see that this is a needed treatment for our little ones. Hopefully the other companies will follow. Thanks for all of your advised so far. I will keep you udated. Mike

Guest guest
Congratulations! We live in VA but we have BCBS of NJ because the company my husband works for's home base is in NJ. The closest Cranial Tech for us is in Charlotte, NC. They denied us for my son's first band but decided they would pay in network for the 2nd. We appealed them about 2-3 months ago with a LOT of information and within days I had the reimbursement checks from them for both bands. I was in hope that they would continue to pay for bands. I am glad they are paying for yours, I hope my appeal helped them realize. Good luck with your banding experience! Mom to Jaxon (DOC banded for 6 months now and still going...)
