I'm posting this again - thanks to those that responded - any more

opinions out there?

After I found this group, I talked my Internist into switching me from .125

levoxyl to Armour. She followed Armour's recommended conversion and

prescribed 1 1/4 grains. I started on 4/29. I seem more focused and

better able to mentally handle day to day challenges, but I am extremely

fatigued in the afternoons. Not sleepy, but like I have to force myself to

move. My temperature is usually in the 97.2 to 97.5 range. I take 1

grain about 6:30am and 1/4 grain around 1pm, usually sublingually. I was

ready to ask the doctor to increase my dosage by 1/4 grain.

I had blood tests done Friday. I just talked to my doctor. Here are

the results:

TSH .19 (.4-5.5) 9/2003: 0.69

FT4 .8 (.8-1.8) 9/2003: 1.3

FT3 289 (230-420) 9/2003: 249

Based on these results, she says I'm HYPER and wants me to LOWER by 1/4

GRAIN

!!!!

OK - all you experts - what do you think?

Unfortunately, her practice is dropping my insurance carrier. I've been

calling other doctors, and they only prescribe synthroid. I will keep

looking. But what do I do?

Someone please explain to me how you get Armour without a prescription?

Should I do this myself and forget about doctors?

I'm really disgusted right now.

i did check with my primary GP and tell them I had been diagnosed with

Hashis, etc....and was working towards getting " stable " (HAHA) ..and would they

once

I was stable, take over my care and prescribe Armour for me? Although they

normally use Synthroid, they did agree that if i have been on Armour and stable

and doing well...they would continue to prescribe it for me. So that might

be different way of asking.

Your doctor is treating going by TSH only. This is a doctor you want to avoid.

Time to leave the doc.

Re: What do I do now?

Cindi - I had a bunch of printouts of articles to show her, etc. She

said she WILL NOT BE TALKED OUT OF IT. She also said my symptoms have

NOTHING TO DO with the thryoid!
