Cultivate your garden. - Voltaire

Believe me when I tell you, I'm doing all I can to get 100 grand saved up so

I can stuff it in a suitcase and fly to Rio. Rome's burning and I dont wanna

be the one holding the firehose. I'll be the guy with the marshmellows at

the end of a stick.

Like Jimmy on said: " I'm gonna get my kicks before the whole shithouse

goes up in flames. "

I'll try to avoid political posts or anything else that may seem

controversial or inciteful. I only made those posts to test the waters as it

were. I dont believe in dipping my toes in first, I jump head first. Now I

have a pretty good idea where all of you are coming from and now you all got

a pretty good idea where I'm coming from and it will help in understanding

each others perspective concerning 12 steppism.

I was starting to think this was alt.politics.....

Anyway, I would love to talk to anyone about what life looks and feels like

outside of the box of steppism. Seems we are all in varying degrees of

moving on into another kind of life that focuses on

living without the slogans and continual focus on not drinking.

I would love to have some more threads discussing deprogramming and how

exactly to " deprogram " .

AA was just one more place that attempted to control my thinking and

behavior. It is liberating to get to a place in my life where I am starting

to feel the freedom to make those choices for myself.

I happen to like the concept " self-actualized " and am working towards that

in my life. Rebekah

To educate as the practice of freedom is a way of teaching that anyone can

learn. That learning process comes easiest to those of us that teach who

also believe that there is an aspect of our vocation that is sacred; who

believe that our work is not merely to share information but to share in

the intellectual and spiritual growth of our students. To teach in a manner

that respects and cares for the souls of our students is essential if we are

to provide the necessary conditions where learning can most deeply and

intimately begin. bell hooks

I contributed to the political thread, indirectly if not directly. I didn't

anticipate my posts would end up having a polarizing effect on the group,

but they did. So I apologize for my part in this.

Hey no problem Judith Didn't even realize who brought the subject

up.....just that it had taken on a life of it's own. At least there are some

fairly intelligent people here who know how to change a header. My delete

button is still under my control at this point.

Actually I wondered where you went....., Apple some of the " old

regulars " !!!! Rebekah
