Guest guest
I think maybe we should add high estrogen to the list below, as I found this when looking up TBG on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thyroxine-binding_globulin: "If, for example, the TBG level is high, which can occur when estrogen levels are high, the TBG will bind more thyroid hormone, decreasing the free hormone available in the blood" Liz ----- Original Message ----- From: Jacki B. Guest guest
What is TBG? It is so hard to tell how much estrogen binding is normal and how much is too much? I can't figure out if I should stay on estrogen and go on a super high T3 dose or taper down the estrogen and get more from the T3 I am taking now. > > It seems like for a lot of us there is a resistance factor that is beyond RT3, but none of us know what that is. Guest guest
TBG is Thyroxine-binding globulin, which is misleading as it binds BOTH T3 and T4. Personally, I think the estrogen vs thyroid hormone decision is a personal one. At the present, I've reduced estrogen but am still taking it. For me, if it comes down to an absolute choice between the two, I'll choose thyroid over estrogen! Insterestingly, if you look at the Wikipedia entry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thyroxine-binding_globulin:, it also says that "in the presence of corticosteroids, which lower TBG levels, the total thyroid hormone (bound and free) in the blood will be low." I'm not sure if this means HC will also effectively lower how much thyroid hormone is available for the body. It's a bit confusing, as their talking about the TBG test and how it's done (via testing resin uptake), but I felt the quote about the Estrogen seemed pretty straight forward. Check it out yourself and see what you think! Liz ----- Original Message ----- From: wliz@... What is TBG?It is so hard to tell how much estrogen binding is normal and how much is too much? Guest guest
Hi, It is pure T3 – scientific name Liothyronine - nothing else – in a slow release form that releases for 12 hours – therefore you only take it twice a day – e.g. 8am and 8pm. You can get it from Medaus, USA under prescription from your doctor - http://www.medaus.com The T2 is a different capsule – pure T2 – diiodi-3-thyronine. To: RT3_T3 Date: Friday, June 19, 2009, 4:16 AM HI all, I’m now on T3 (and T2) only. I take the slow release T3 twice a day at 8am and 8pm. And I feel good. Had some RT3 issues and decided to drop the synthetic T4 (Eltroxin here in SA). I feel good on the slow release – never have to worry about 4 doses every day. My doctor advised me that T4 makes for a more stable environment, but I decided to stick to T3 only as the RT3 really messes up life, and I would prefer to try T3 only and see how “stabilizing” T4 really is – after all, it pretty much is a moot point if together with the stable aspect comes RT3 issues? So I’m deciding “Unstable” vs. “RT3” right now – so far “unstable” wins ;-)

Guest guest
Hi Claudine, In SA Rands it is R250.00 per month’s supply (60 capsules taken twice a day). Our Rand is weaker than US $ (at about R8.50 to $1.00), but I doubt you can convert exactly like that, as the source of the T3 comes from USA, but the rest is made up in SA. Medaus in USA should be able to give you quote - http://www.medaus.com. Guest guest
HI Leisa, Sorry – only saw the last email after I sent mine. Some of my cravings went away immediately. For that alone it was worth it! J Of course my metabolism went up, and I lost about 2kg’s without changing any habits. Taking the T2 is no more trickier than adding one more pill to the ever-growing ensemble. As I said in previous email – you might want to drop about 7.5mcg of T3 just until you see if you don’t go hyper when starting T2 as well, then you can add back the 7.5 T3 or not as the case may be. That’s it! Warm regards, Andre Shirley +27 (0) 82 650 2294 Don Shirley +27 (0) 82 650 2279 www.iantd.co.za www.technicaldivingafrica.com www.halcyonsa.co.za P Please save a tree. Guest guest
Ok, sorry to make you repeat yourself again but I'm still a bit confused. You say you take 125mcg SRT2 twice a day. Do you mean that you take 62.5mcg twice per day for an equivalent of 125mcg daily? And the same for the SRT3, dosed twice to get an equivalent of 75 per day? Another question I have is how do you check your lab levels for the T2?? Is there a lab test for FT2?? Or do you just dose on how you feel? Sorry for all of the questions but I just really want to try to understand this method. Thanks again for your explanations.
