Guest guest
I would like to hear from people who feel or felt good on t3 only. I did it once for a month to clear the rt3 and it was a roller coster ride and never did feel great until I was on Armour again. How about you? Guest guest
My experience was feeling great for a month or so, then possibly becuase of change of medicine,or ferritin or adrenal or all three, I havent felt great. Ive found it to be very timeconsuming and fustrating. I have the capability to feel really wonderful for some hrs of the day, but its not the fix I thought it would be. Still I dont know of an alternative. Ultimatly, I think that what ever problems got us here with rt3 standing in the way of t3 getting in the cells.....doesnt just "go away" when the rt3 goes away. just my take, Im still hoping and sticking with it. Guest guest
Ya I feel the best ive felt in a long time. I had to mess around with my dose and how much and when to take it but I finally figured it out. I take 30-20-20-20 and it works really good. I feel like my ferritin and adrenals are almost good or even fixed now. I feel the best on T3 only but I might have to either switch to natural thyroid or add in some T4 because its hard to dose T3 so much. > > I would like to hear from people who feel or felt good on t3 only. Guest guest
Thats what I meant ..its hard to dose even 3 x a day for me..I was wondering if people can start to dose 2x a day eventually when things get evened out. For instance, now that you feel good, have you tried going to 3 x a day? Has anyone done 2x a day? also has anyone done well with srt3? Guest guest
I agree totally with Leisa... This has been my experience so far as well - very time-consuming, frustrating, etc. And the 2 times I've tried going back to Armour the RT3 symptoms came right back, so I may be " stuck " on T3-only - but I can't stay feeling this bad either, so I'm glad you asked this question!! Guest guest
Jacki, Did you know what caused your Rt3 and did you have it corrected and then you still had Rt3 problems come back? Guest guest
That's a very good question, Venizia!! As far as what caused the RT3 in me, I think it was probably a bunch of things: extreme dieting in my teens (I'm now 48) probably didn't help any... In my 20's I lost and regained 80 lbs. through strict dieting. At 30, I fell ill with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and was SO sick I was even in a wheelchair for 6 years because I was too weak to even hold my head up and when walking I'd get those jelly-legs and they'd just crumble out from under me. After 6 years of this, I connected some of my symptoms with chemicals I was using every day - especially fragranced products - and saw an environmental doctor, cleaned up my environment, etc., and got about 70% better...! Had to have a hysterectomy in 1996 due to fibroid tumors and endometriosis (oh how I wish I'd known then about progesterone cream and estrogen dominance - maybe I could've had children). Oh - forgot to mention the bout with birth-control pills... That was a DISASTER for me. Caused periods to get heavier and heaver, I became anemic, they kept INcreasing my dose of hormones - finally got OFF them but the damage was done. Sometime in my early 40's they said I had lupus and fibromyalgia, too. So - I think " all of the above " contributed to my problem with RT3! So to answer your 2nd question - Yes, I cleared all the excess RT3 through following Val's advice here (T3 only for 12 weeks) then tried to get back on Armour. After just a few weeks I started getting symptoms again and it was determined the RT3 was coming back into play, so back to T3 only. I did this twice since December and now am just on T3 and have been for about 4 months now. But now I'm getting the hypo symptoms again - hair falling out like crazy, swelling, exhausted, dry skin, weight gain, etc., etc., so I'm trying to figure out what's keeping me hypo even on T3 only... Jacki, Did you know what caused your Rt3 and did you have it corrected and then you still had Rt3 problems come back? Venizia > > I agree totally with Leisa... Guest guest
Geez Jacki, you have had more than your share of issues. But this is not encouraging as for getting rid of Rt3 and KEEPING it normal. You are getting hypo symptoms....what dose are you taking now? Venizia > > That's a very good question, Venizia!! Guest guest
I am at 125 mcg. of T3 and 20 of HC... Sure seems at this high a dose of T3 I should not be hypo still! But I definitely FEEL hypo. After a lot of pondering (and praying!) this week, I'm feeling like I might now be on too much HC and I know extra HC " uses up " thyroid in our systems. I had been under a LOT of stress for a couple of months in April and May (lost custody of our niece, death in the family, etc.) - and had increased up to 27.5 HC to compensate, plus some stress dosing. I've gained like 20 lbs. VERY quickly, along with all these other symptoms. So after seeing my doctor yesterday, we've decided to try weaning off some of the extra HC and see what happens. We also did labs to see where I'm at. Last time my FT3 was mid-range and it really should be higher according to Val. My ferritin was 109. I'll soon know what my new numbers are, in addition to an electrolyte panel, but last time it wasn't too bad... The weird thing is last Thursday I increased T3 from 100 to 125 and the next few days were MUCH better - swelling went down quite a bit, etc. Then suddenly on Monday it all came back :(It really does feel like a balancing act... Geez Jacki, you have had more than your share of issues. But this is not encouraging as for getting rid of Rt3 and KEEPING it normal. You are getting hypo symptoms....what dose are you taking now? Guest guest
My temps are STILL low on this much... No other hyper symptoms either! It's like something is blocking the thyroid from getting into my cells, but I don't know WHAT! Jacki, Are your temps ok with that high a dose of T3? Didn't Val or someone say if you are on too much T3 you can have symptoms too? Venizia

For instance, now that you feel good, have you tried going to 3 x a day? Has anyone done 2x a day? I count out the number of tablets I take each day and put them in a small bottle in my pocket. That way I know how many I have taken that day. If I feel a slump I look at the clock and see if I am due a dose, if I can't remember if I have taken it I count how many are left. If I feel I don't need one of them that day I miss it out. It works for me, I crunch and swallow them and can just take as needed but not overdose beyond my daily maximum Nick

Guest guest
HI all, I’m now on T3 (and T2) only. I take the slow release T3 twice a day at 8am and 8pm. And I feel good. Had some RT3 issues and decided to drop the synthetic T4 (Eltroxin here in SA). I feel good on the slow release – never have to worry about 4 doses every day. My doctor advised me that T4 makes for a more stable environment, but I decided to stick to T3 only as the RT3 really messes up life, and I would prefer to try T3 only and see how “stabilizing” T4 really is – after all, it pretty much is a moot point if together with the stable aspect comes RT3 issues? So I’m deciding “Unstable” vs. “RT3” right now – so far “unstable” wins ;-) Warm regards, Andre Shirley +27 (0) 82 650 2294 Don Shirley +27 (0) 82 650 2279 www.iantd.co.za www.technicaldivingafrica.com www.halcyonsa.co.za P Please save a tree. Guest guest
HI I know two women who have been on T3 only -- one for 25 years until the compromise with the T4-only crowd created the combination therapy. > > It seems like for a lot of us there is a resistance factor that is beyond RT3, but none of us know what that is. Guest guest
I am not sure, but I do think its adrenal somehow. Its important to me, as my daughter is really considering doing the swap. I wonder what dr lowe would have to say about this. And how his t2/t3 thing is going? I like to know how many Val has seen go thru the t3 protocal...and of those, the percentage of people that have had ongoing issues. For myself, I felt absolutely wonderful perfect...then something so small as liver flush and candida cleanseing products for some weeks, compounded with a change of medicine, completely shocked my adrenals again. I have been on my adrenal aide for a week, and 4 isocort a day. I am feeling better, but still feel that wierd heart, and am not able to take the full thyroid dose yet.
