My resting pulse is 96. I have been supplementing salt and potassium and I no

longer feel faint when standing. I recently raised my HC to 40 and my T3 to 65

and my temps are sablilzing at 97.7 My last free T3 was 362

any ideas?

-How much potassium? Did your pulse creep up once you started potassium and/or

salt? Sometimes a higher pulse is low sodium.

Hi Crystal

I have been taking 2000 mg per day of potassium. I think the change in my pulse

just happened recently, when my low dose estro patch fell off, however I used

topical estro last night and my pulse is still high today. I also felt really

sick to my stomach and had a headache, although that might be something I ate.

The new estro is a different kind from the compounding pharmacy although the

dose should be the same.

I have not been good about keeping my pulse lately but I noticed it getting

faster the other night. I am definitely going to keep my pulse every day now.

I did sea salt this a.m. and my pulse is still high. Should I lay off potassium

and see if it works I am feeling a little faint today, actually

This might be my problem, too. But usually when I need salt I feel faint. I

didn't before, although now I do kind of feel faint when I get up. Do you have

that too? Are you on florinef?

Both my sodium and potassium are a little low, I think. I wonder if I should

take florinef. My doc doesn't want to give it to me.

One other detail is that I urinate several times per night. Does that mean I

need florinef?

I had increased my potassium also and was surprised to see it was 3.6 when in

Jan. it was 4.2. I was taking 40 meq a day. I was wondering if this happened

because I was taking it the same time I took selenium. So I have stopped doing

that and will see in about another 5 days with the next lab. I also have been

having high pulse but I am also working on Rt3 with just T3. I also have food

sensitivities that will cause high pulse. So it is going to be a little more

difficult for me to figure this out. But I was surprised also to read that

increasing potassium will raise pulse. I raised, got high pulse, and a low

potassium result. What a puzzle!

I supplemented both and 2 wks later sodium was at 4.0 and potassium was 3.6.

I'm going tomorrow for another electrolyte panel. I've been doing 1500mg of

potassium and no extra salt. So frustrating! I also do 400mg magnesium citrate

at bedtime.

I have been taking potassium supplements for years. I have NEVER had this happen

before. I think it is either that I was taking it with selenium OR it has

something to do with the reverse T3 I am dealing with, with just T3. Maybe the

T3 is doing something to my levels. I have NEVER had a problem with the

supplement not raising my levels.

I do not know what my sodium level is. They were suppose to run that also and

didn't so I will be asking for it when I go in for the next labs in a few days.
