I saw a lot of discussion about it on the alt.support.arthritis newsgroup, when it first came out. If you go to the Dejanews site and do a search on it, it'll show lots of responses. Pro and con.
Hope this helps some.
~Georgina
Skis@... wrote:
From: Skis@...
Has any one here tried SAMe which made the big story in News week as a
supplement for treating RA?

Guest guest
Hi Sam, There comes a time in our lives when we have to become the " parents " to our parents. She obviously cannot make rational decisions right now and the family needs to take control. (My FIL and DH are both alcoholics) When I was that jaundiced, I couldn't think straight ( possibly encephalopholy [sp]), slept 24/7, felt like I had the flu, every bone/joint in my body hurt, urine was bright orange and stools grey. If you check in groups, you may find an email list that is for Alcohol induced Hepatitis/Cirrhosis. Most importantly, she definitely needs medical attention. Good luck and take care. If there is any other way we can help, please let us know. Even if it is someone to talk to. Hugs, Joanna in WA state AIH 8/
Guest guest
Dear Sam, I did a search on groups and there are 10 email support lists for alcohol induced cirrohisis. Go to this website to chose the one you best fills your needs: search?query=cirrhosis Good luck sweetie, I hope this helps. Guest guest
Joanna, Thanks for your support. I will look for something alcohol related. We are at a complete loss, we have tried and tried to take control of this situation. We check her into hospitals, but as soon as we go home, she checks herself out. The doctors tell us that unless we have power of attorney, we cannot make her do anything even though she is drinking herself to certain death. Her youngest son is trying to get her to a dr. today. hopefully he can make a difference. Thanks again, Sami

I have the abstract of a study done on this. Now that my dosage is decreased, I've found that my memory and general mental facility are back to normal. I think. Guest guest
Hi- I posted a few picture of my son Sam (just introduced in a prior post). It was hard to get a good view of the top of his head, but these are the best that I have so far. Can you let me know your thoughts on the severity of the plagio? To me, it looks worse than pictures of many of the others that I have seen banded, but just wanted some thoughts so that I will be prepared for the doctor on Monday. Thanks, Mom to Sam 4.5 months (plagio/tort/scoliosis?) and (3 years at the end of the month)

Guest guest
! What a cutie he is!! Heartbreaker! He does look moderate to severe to me. It is good that you are obtaining treatment for him at such a young age, you should see good results. You are a wonderful mommy for pursuing this. Guest guest
, Sam is cute! It looks like he likes his boppy, which is great. It does look like he would benefit from a band. I see the flatness on the left and some facial asymmetry. However, at his age he should get great correction. Let me guess he doesn't like to look right? mom to na DOC Grad 2/04 Tort Resolved South Carolina www.thefilyaws.comWSSeaberg <wsbier@...> wrote: Hi-I posted a few picture of my son Sam (just introduced in a prior post). Guest guest
, I agree, he is adorable! My son was about Sam's age when we got started and we saw almost immediate improvement. While his plagio was only moderate, we're almost done now after just 8 weeks! So please don't worry, Sam will do great! Guest guest
Hi , Sam is quite the little cutie! He seems very happy with his tummy time too! Unfortunately I'd say he's severe, but the good thing is you are catching this at such a young age that he should see excellent correction. I'm glad you've been reading about the local options, and based on the more recent experiences we've had, I'd definitely opt for somewhere other than NOPCO if you have the opportunity. With Sam being probably severe, you definitely don't want to waste any time. My Hannah's flat side was opposite, but very similar in severity. We chose to travel to Cranial Technologies in Clinton, CT for treatment. She got excellent correction after 2 DOCbands, but then had some regression (which is very rare, don't worry!) and had to be banded again. I'll attach her web link if you want to check out her progress pics (check out the 3 week progress picture especially, it's amazing!). I'm sure you'll see the similarities in head shapes between her and Sam. Good luck and definitely let us know how the appt at Chilren's goes. , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad Cape Cod, Ma http://hannahsnoggin.typepad.com --- In Plagiocephaly , " WSSeaberg " <wsbier@c...> wrote: > > Hi- > > I posted a few picture of my son Sam (just introduced in a prior > post). Guest guest
Hi You are on the ball that you are getting Sam treated at this young age. He should get great correction. I would also say that he is severe, and I see his ear misalignment. That all said I still think you will have a hard time keeping the girls away from hin in a few years. What a cutie. Guest guest
HI Sam, No, I am not new to the internet and very mindful of copyright and netiqutte rules. I thought you had posted to me in error, an easy assumption, as we are not familiar with each other¹s Internet history and background nor do we know each other personally. I apologize to you for my incorrect assumption that it was posted to my private email in error, I am not used to people posting to me off-list to my private email without first asking on group if they may.
