clubfeet and we have been practising the old tech but have now have

changed to use ponsetti coz his techique has shown some incredible

results.

I would like to know more from u all as well about this tech coz we

Hi Eddy,

Great to have you here! Welcome, if you have time we would like wise like

to know about some of your results. It is always great to hear success

stories, and to be of any help.

My daughter was born with right clubfoot and hip dysphasia. She was treated

by traditional casting, with a percutaneous tenotomy done at three months,

and a total of 15 of those " traditional cast. She then wore a AFO, and

regressed. She was then treated by Dr. Ponseti when she was 5 months old.

Doing great now.

Hello Eddy,

Welcome to our group, we hope that you will be able to find helpful

information here and welcome you and any of your patients to our

group.

There are a lot of web sites links to Ponseti method and other

information here in the bookmarks and files sections. In addition,

we have some links to Dr. Pirani's Uganda Clubfoot Project reports

from the past few years. Links to that information can be found at

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nosurgery4clubfoot/files/The%20Uganda%

20Clubfoot%20Project/ or else look in the files section at

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nosurgery4clubfoot/files/ Then look

under " The Uganda Clubfoot Project " - A Program to Treat Clubfoot in

Uganda, Africa using the Ponseti Method.

Please tell us how you came to learn about the Ponseti method and how

it seems to be working in your clinic and if it is being used by

other PT's in other parts of your country.

hi beth!!!!!!!!!

thanx for ur mail and i am sure this is sure a great

group to be with. the most interesting thing is when u

are among like minded ppl.

Well i m in a country called Sudan working for

Khartoum Cheshire home, i guess some of u may know of

this place coz my boss was there for the last meet

that they held at kampala (uganda) and he introduced

me to this new technique i find it very interest and

hence have adapted to it, i have gone thro the tapes

and material regarding this technique and find it very

promising. Since i m in my baby shoes about this

technique i have approached this group to share my

experiences and learn from u all as well.

I would keep u all in touch with the latest

developments that we have started off with kids.

Today we put 12 clubfoots in cast wholely following

the this techique.

Well i am to join the next workshop which is due to be

held sometime the end of this year so maybe i would be

able to meet some of u ppl if ur among the group that

would be present for this.

i hope to hear more from u all in the mean time.

thanx beth, since u have some material regarding this

approach kindly send it to me at my email add which is

premedward@...

thank u once again all. U all are surely a great group

here.

bye.

Prem.

Hello Eddy,

Glad to have you here. I know another PT from Kenya who attended the

last training in Kampala with Dr. Pirani. She is in Eldoret and her

name is Percia Hutcherson. I haven't spoken to her in some time, but

your being here has reminded me to check in with her. I'm glad to

hear that there are others utilizing this technique in other

countries.

My daughter was born with bi-lateral cf and treated with traditional

below the knee casts for 5 weeks with little change. We were told by

several doctors that she would eventually require surgery. We found

the University of Iowa website with Dr. Ponseti's information and we

read his book. We then traveled from California to Iowa to have her

treated by Dr. Ponseti. She received 4 Ponseti method casts,

followed by the tenotomy and then her 5th and final set of Ponseti

casts. She is now 2 years 2months old and is still wearing the foot

abduction bar at night-time. Her feet are beautiful!

Welcome!

hi lori!!!!!!

i think u have done the right thing to have adapted to this new

technique which has been doing really well. I am sure ur going to be

pleased with the out come of it.

Ur child is going to be proud of u for having to put him/her in the

DBB coz the out come as i noticed is very good.

I would like to appeal the same to all mothers as well, this

technique calls for patients which is very fruitful in the latter

stages, pls dont go in for fast and quick methods which dont show the

very the best of results.

I wish u the best and ur child.

bye,

prem.
