Oh sorry. Living in New England, I come to know the only tri-state

area as situated around New York. Preferably in NYC or surrounding

Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey.

If anyone has worked with a specialist in these area please post and

let me know your experience.

Thank You.

Hi ;

You might try to contact Dr. Marshall M. Kaplan at:

Division of Gastroenterology, New England Medical Center, Tufts

University School of Medicine, and the Tupper Research Institute,

Boston, Massachusetts 02111, USA.

He has published many research papers on primary sclerosing

cholangitis and primary biliary cirrhosis.

An interview with him is posted at:

American Liver Foundation, New England Chapter Newsletter. Ask the

Doctor: Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis; by Marshall M. Kaplan, MD

Best regards,

Dave

Dear ,

My husband has been seeing Dr. Hillel Tobias, located at Concorde Medical Group on East 30th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues in NYC. He is affiliated with NYU Medical Center and is very well regarded. I believe he is the medical director of the transplant team at NYU, and although my husband is nowhere near transplant, it is comforting to know that if that eventuality should arise we are already in Dr. Tobias' care. He is a caring, compassionate and concerned physician, and has been very receptive to our questions and concerns. Being an RN, he is very collaborative with me in the care of my husband, and appreciates my persistant questioning and ideas (many physicians prefer you to be quiet and let them be in charge).

On the whole, we are very pleased with him, however, since my husband is and has been completely symptom free, we have not had a crisis. I often think you can't really judge a physician until you have to deal with him (or her) and he with you, in a crisis situation.

I will be happy to provide any further info if you need it.

Liz
