Guest guest
I like you received poor care in the army which was a Terrible experience. I also use the fentanyl patches currently. I am on the 100 mcg pain patch every 48 hrs and take 120 mg of IR morphine every 4-6 hours as needed. I'm considering use two 100 mcg patches to reduce rescue dosage and better control the pain. Rotating sites for the patch helps with the skin. However I have heard from others that they were given something to apply before the patch to reduce irritation and drying. I actually put the patch on my leg as they stay better and people can't see. I also damaged my stomach from medications and have to be careful what pills I take. Additionally, my pain management doctor wants me to switch to methadone but I have many concerns. You can check an earlier post of mine for more details on that. I think I've decided against it however I'm trying to keep open mind. Let me know what you end up doing medication wise. There are new extended release formulation I would like to try such as exalgo for example. The dilaudid worked good for pain with little brain fog and side effects like the fentanyl. Good luck to you and I wish you the best as I know the struggles you have had and some of the ones to come. Guest guest
Hi ,  Welcome to our group! It is good to hear from you although I am sorry to hear about what brings you to us. Back pain has got to be some of the most incredible debilitating pain one can experience. I am happy to see that you are posting and looking for solutions outside of medications. For many of us we will always have to manage our pain with medications but keeping all of our options open is good advise. Maybe a combining effort of meds as well as ideas such as, oh I don't know, but maybe meditation, would be a place to start?  Best wishes and thanks for serving our country!  > wrote: > I fractured my spine while in the Army and received poor care through the clinics provided for me. Guest guest
Hi, I am also new to this group with neuralgia in my back and fibromyalgia as well for 9 years. Then in January I was diagnosed with a herniated disc in my neck. The fun never stops!! I work with kids which is both a pos and a neg, it's fun and keeps me feeling young but it aggravates my conditions. I have tried everything but I don't know about this nerve stimulator. I live in New York City and I have been with a pain practice for many years and now I get trigger point injections which help a bit. Nice to meet you all, > wrote: > I fractured my spine while in the Army and received poor care through the clinics provided for me.
