Hello jorjanao@...,

In reference to your comment:

ð In case no one remembers me (and you probably

ð shouldn't)

I remember you :)

You just start doing it again.... basically what you just did was tell on

your diabetes... and your subsequent depression etc.... :)

Soo now first thing tomorrow start testing or tonight if you read this

now... :)

Then get the high carb junkout of the house, and start eating right.... :)

For me when i have to start back on low carb, after going nuts for a bit...

I cook a TON of legal protein....

60 or so breakfast muffins (eggs, sausage, cream, swiss cheese, veggies)

60 - 75 breakfast meatballs (hamburger, breakfast sausage, cheddar cheese, a

bit of onion and a bit of egg)

bacon 4-5 lbs

breakfast sausage links 2-4 lbs

chicken 10 - 15 leg quarters cooked in italian dsg

18 eggs worth of egg salad (eggs, onion, green pepper, mayo)

5 small cans worth of tuna (tuna, onion, mayo, salt and pepper, and garlic)

i buy pepperoni and meat and cheese ends... from the deli

and i have plenty of bags of frozen low carb veggies on hand, and some

cukes....

This is what i eat for a week or so.... now i'm feeding 3 people, so my

quantity is this much, btw they may choose to have bread or nuked potatoes,

pasta etc or whatever, but i don't... :)

If i have all this ready on hand, then i don't go for the crap that can

exhist in the world.... :)

Sooo get set, get ready lets go :)

Hello whimsy2@...,

In reference to your comment:

ð When your BGs go down your depression may get

ð better also

This is why i didn't suggest antidepressants right away.... i'd try to

wrestle the gorilla first, if you can't get your hands on it, then go ask for

meds.... btw i'd try paxil or prozac, i had bad side effects on celexa....

but ymmv.

Hi Jorganna,

I certainly recall you. Think of it as if you were climbing a

mountain. If you contemplate the whole rigorous trip, it can be too

intimidating. Just put one foot in front of the other. Focus on

getting through the next 24 hours ... or the next 12 hours. After

awhile, your new routines will become a natural part of your life ...

no longer a " diet " . Don't beat yourself up. We all fall off the wagon

at times, for various reasons. When we are too hard on ourselves, it

just makes it that much more difficult to refocus on our program,

which we need to follow for the rest of our lives. There's no time

like tomorrow to get your program going again ... or even today! :o)

Our diabetic bodies won't let us get away with cheating. It shows up

on the glucose meter, the HbA1c, the scales, and the way we feel. In

a way, that can help us. It keeps us honest.

You have been under a lot of stress and have had a lot of

distractions. I always do better when I'm at home and can get a

normal rhythm going. Good to hear from you again! The fact that you

posted means you are already committing ... a good sign.

Susie

easy.....move over Susie.....I think it's Vicki's turn to

drive......Rick...they are not sharing the seats.....and its not fair to try

to increase my exercise by making me run along side the

wagon.......Tom....you stepped on my toes....and yes I know I should be

wearing shoes...... please throw a rope out for me...this wagon is

moving too fast again....

Go to a medical library and look at some pictures of people who haven't managed

their diabetes responsibly. Look at the blindness, the ulcerated sores, the

amputated limbs, etc. If that doesn't give you incentive, I don't know what

will.

I agree with , Jorjana. Get all the bad stuff out, but buy a lot

of the good stuff, and things you really like that are low carb :-) I buy

shrimp, mushrooms, chicken breasts, peppers, asparagus, salad fixings,

strawberries, whipping cream -- with Splenda, and a little red wine. Make a

list of all the foods you love that are low carb, and I bet your list will

be a lot longer than you think :-) Hang in there.... you'll feel better

mentally when your blood sugar drops.

Ressy that was GREAT! Your words painted a visual for me that was superb!

Jorjana, we really are just one big community of wagon riders. We all need

the encouragement of one another. I'm glad you yelled " Help! " and I'm

grateful for the many responses you got. I'm not much of one to suggest

meal ideas, heck, I'd eat a plank if my wife set it in front of me! BUT I

can echo what's a;ready been said... One step at a time, one day at a time.

Yesterday's failure is tomorrow's opportunity for success. Don't give in to

thoughts of failure and hopelessness. When the day is done and you lay down

to sleep, give your good thoughts " equal time " . Don't give in to

criticizing yourself for the day's mistakes, unless you are willing to pat

your self on the back for the good things you accomplished. When you wake

up the next day, greet it with a resolve to do what you can do, and then do

it, one step, one task at a time.

Rick

P.S. Now listen, EVERYBODY BETTER SHARE THEIR SEATS, OR I'M GONNA PULL THIS

WAGON OVER AND...
