Guest guest
, I'm glad that things are working out for you. The court system can be very difficult. It seems like judges can be bought so easily now days. They sometimes do not take the children's wellfare into consideration. I hope that your son will get to be at home with you soon. Hugs, H. > First I want to apologize for not posting sooner about the outcome of court. I appreciate all the posts and the prayers. I have been in a lot of pain and have not wanted to share my news with anyone. > Like my attorney told me, there is good news and there is bad news. > Bad news is Cody did not get to come home with me from Dallas. He has to stay there the remainder of the school year. > Good news is 1) I don't have to appeal because we won the right to a new trial. The judge has recused himself from the case because of his bias. 2) My ex can no longer do his own legal work and get away with not paying for an attorney. YEAH!!!!!! For the past five years I have paid over $150,000 in attorney fees and he has paid less than $15,000. 3) I get Cody every other weekend until trial. My ex always tried to deny access and we now have a signed order! 4) We are going tp WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > My attorney said we may have lost the battle (bringing Cody back immediately) but we have WON the WAR! Since we no longer have a biased judge, the facts will prove who the better parent (and person) is. There is no way another judge will give a child to a parent that never even tried to visit with his children for over 3 years. No child support, no insurance, nothing. He was also found guilty of neglecting our autistic son and they removed child from his home permantly. I have FULL custody of . > > So, it has been really hard to deal with the fact that I am missing so much of Cody's childhood because of this crap. Teaching has been difficult because all of his friends keep coming up and asking when Cody is coming back to school. > > I was fortunate enough to have a father willing to fork over a $25,000 retainer for the best custody attorney in Texas. He doesn't lose so we are willing to pay what is needed to give Cody and myself some closure. What my ex doesn't understand is the fact that no matter who " wins " this battle, CODY LOSES. Imagine being 10 years old and this crap has become your life. > > Sorry for this being so long! > P > > >
Guest guest
P, I have been gone from the group for awhile but I've been catching up on old post. Sorry to hear everything you and Cody have been through. Don't give up sounds like you have won half the battle. You sound like a very caring mother and have been through an ordeal to get him back. Hang in there it will pay off. It's nice to see someone who realizes that this court stuff is rough on the kids also but at same time Cody will always remember how hard you fit to get him back. He's very loved! Wishing you and your family the very best! Hope this is resolved soon, Donna F > First I want to apologize for not posting sooner about the outcome of court.
