Hi ,

Sorry to be such a pain! But how often do I drain? I assume this means

from the gastric? And you use a syringe???Not drip? Explain? You dont

let it drip while you pump. I thought I was suppose to keep the gastric

open when I pump the J?

I'm assuming your doc has not told you this. Each child is different and

what has to be done for one will not necessarily have to be with another.

Branden doesn't usually need to drain at all, but when he does we can attach

an open syringe to either port- depending on if we've accessed the G port at

all and whatever shouldn't be there will usually come out on its own- not

always of course, but for him it does. Have you thought about joining the

G-tube list and asking these questions? There are a lot of folks there and I

would say atleast a few have some experience with the GJ tube. If you need

help getting to it let me know.
