For me, the throwing is not so bad as before. It's almost like I can imagine a

sort of vase like container and when food fills up the round bottom it just

backs up and overflows up the " neck'. gross enough?

I usually start just belching like crazy and then after a while the food seems

to just come back up. Sometimes I will really wretch and throw a lot. I had

pasta the other night - a small amount of spaghetti. Never again. I threw

right away and felt like I was going to choke to death. The whole strands were

caught in my throat on the way up and I couldn't breathe. Scary. Of course I

decided to try it again the next night with the leftovers and same thing

happened!!

I'm just afraid I am becoming Bulemic!

I am 6 weeks out today, and I have a problem with throwing up. It is

different now, after I throw up I always feel better. (not that I enjoy

throwing up). It also is usually always liquid. Sorry if I've grossed anybody

out.

Yes, the puking thing after surgery (for me) is wicked different. I don't

throw hardly at all, but when I have (2x in nine months), you feel this

wicked pressure thing in the upper chest area, nausea, and WANT to puke.

I'm the type of person, that when " viewing " the porcelain, and think about

what normally goes in there, I puke. The difference is now, I don't

actually puke the food, but more of a slimy, gooey phlegm thing...sorry to

be so blunt, but it's the only way I know! Once u do it, you feel SOOOO much

better!

Throwing Up

Well, since someone else has decided to post the throwing up senerio, I have

a question that I want to ask.

I was told that throwing up after surgery is different then before surgery.

I am pre-op right now, and I don't throw up hardly at all right now. I know

that when I have (when I've been sick or something) I cry and I am

miserable. That horrible taste in the back of your throat and the heaving

from your stomach is definetely not something that I am looking forward to.

Is it true that throwing up is different after surgery, and if so, how?

Thanks everyone for bearing with my many pre-surgery questions. I

appreciate it.

I'm sorry to hear about those of you that have this problem. What does your

doctor say? I've never been sick since having the surgery almost a year ago

so I can't comment on what its like before/after.

Yes, I know. I'm not chewing well enough or eating slow enough I think.

What I did with the pasta was twirl it around my fork and then swallow. It

" unwound " !!! Yuck.

I'll try and do better.

I was throwing up when I started real food. I was just not chewing

enough and taking small enough bites. Also I ate to much and not SLOWWWW

enough. It's learning to eat all aver again. Pam

Kathleen,

You mentioned the strands came up...could it be you're not chewing enough?

You should not see " chunks " if you're chewing well. Just my opinion sweety!
