Guest guest
I went to my endo this morning, and he said that had I not just gone thru two operations in the past few weeks he'd have suggested surgery. Yes, there is always some residual tissue, but not 15% of the gland. So be it. I take the 29mCi next week, and WBS about ten days later. So I'll take it from there. I asked him for a prescription for an anti nausea pill. He said " what's the point - you'll just throw it up " , but I quoted this list, and just asked again. Have a good day Hanna TT 06/
Guest guest
I don't usually speak out about issues like this, but we routinely gave an anti-nausea pill 1-2 hours before adminisration of the RAI, on the basis that it wouldn't do any harm, and may well do a lot of good. Guest guest
Hi Hanna: It is hard to express the dismay i feel for you and this treatment you received. For anyone who has experienced nausea this is no small matter. Whether throwing up the pill or not, at least one can try to ward off what is a terrible experience if at all possible. You must feel so dismissed by your medical people. hang in there and maybe " show them Ian's post " such good sense, it may not help but it can't hurt to try. Keep us posted, we're with you! Guest guest
Wow Hannah, 29 mcs and 8 days. I had 177 mcs and was isolated 10 total. It never ceases to amaze me the difference in treatment for this desease. Can you write to us in your 8 days? Sure hope so. Guest guest
Thanks for the sympathy, I really appreciate it. I think he's a competent endo, he seems well qualified and has plenty of experience with thyca. I'm a bit shocked that I have been told to be in isolation (albeit at home) for 8 days, after a 29mCi dosage.
