Guest guest
So far, so good! I'm down about 80 pounds and it will be 4 months on Saturday. It will also be my first wedding anniversary on June 5th. Amazing. I still have a problem with throwing. Seem to throw almost every other day at least. See my doctor again on June 26th. See what he says. But, life is still great!! Kathleen
Guest guest
My DH has been wonderful!! I keep telling him he got in on the ground floor!! And since I had breast reconstruction after mastectomies, I keep losing weight but the boobs are still cute and perky!! Too cool!!! At least I will always know he loved me for me nad he loved me before surgery was even an idea!! Yes, I will tell the doctor - again - !! I have problems if I eat too soon after waking up in the morning. If I eat too fast - which I have a really hard time with - and if I eat too much. Another problem for me!! I do fine with soft foods, like soups and cottage cheese and yogurts. I have problems with chicken and beef and breads sometimes. I live on sugar free popsicles - they always settle my stomach. I was on a couple of medications that were making me sick but have stopped them. I'm no longer sick to my stomach all the time but still throw. After I eat anything I turn into BURP WOMAN. Amazing long, loud belches that my sons used to try and " perfect " when they were teenagers. It lasts for quite a long time - up to 1/2 hour - although it usually leads to throwing up. I will throw water if I drink after eating a bit too much. I'm only talking about maybe one bite over my " limit " !! Not talking about large amounts of food. It's almost like I have a very specific amount of space and instead of getting stuck, things come right back up. But I wouldn't go back for anything. This will pass and it's not so horrible. I'm gettin used to it unfortunately. But I know this is not good for my body so I do want to get it fixed. Just not ready to panic yet. You take care and congrats to all the people who have been sharing their good news lately. Sometimes I read my mail at work and can't take the time to answer and give all the congrats I would like. Guest guest
Hey It will bounce back SOME....the real question is...how much? It varies with each individual. My highest weight was 293, and I'm 42 years old. I DID have a tummy tuck, but only 'cuz I was having my arms done and got the tummy for just a little $$. Otherwise, I didn't have enough to have made me get it done. My arms were another story! LOL! They did NOT bounce back. In any case, extra skin can be taken care of with surgery. You can also hide a lot of it in clothes. I remember thinking I'll be happy to live with extra skin if that's the tradeoff to losing 140 or so pounds! kim in plymouth Miner wrote: Hi! from Maine here! I think my biggest worry is having so much wobbly skin. The stomach area worries me badly. I am 5'1" 270. If you were at this weight/height at one point and have lost will you please let me know how this is going with you?! And....I have been very overweight for near 20 years so does my skin really have the means to bounce back some? You can email me directly as I may not be able to get around to the digests real soon and I will put them in one email and send them out. Take care and thanks in afvance for any and all responses I get. I appreciate you folks so very much! in Maine www. .com
Guest guest
Hey Kathleen-Congrats on your 80 lb weight loss. That is so great! Ogunquit is beautiful! I've been there several times with friends. I read that you live in Arlington. I grew up in Belmont. My parents still live there so I visit them frequently. I'd love to get together for a cup of coffee (or water) sometime. Now I live in Rockport, right by the ocean. It's really pretty here. Well, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and good luck with your continued weight loss. Take care! ), Steph in Rockport

Guest guest
Hi Kathleen thanks for remembering me and asking! The arms look pretty good (Thursday will be 4 weeks) although still quite sore. More sore than I would have expected this far out. The vein and tummy tuck are pretty good. The hernia repair is still sore, also. I think I'll be pleased when all the swelling finally goes away. Doc said swelling wont be completely gone for 3-4 months. Yikes! It has gone down a lot, though, and I'm grateful for that. How are you doing? Keep me posted on your progress, girl! kim in plymouth mediadir4@... wrote: Kim, How did your arms turn out? Are you happy? And your tummy tuck? Guest guest
Kathleen 80 lbs in 4 months! Yikes! that is awesome! The throwing up every other day concerns me, though. Make sure you mention it to your doc....could be something closing up in there or something, you know? Do you see a pattern to when you throw, or what you are eating when you throw? You shouldn't be. I'm concerned. Please keep me posted, ok? kim in plymouth And your DH....what does he think of all this? He's only been married a year, and has been married to 2 different women during that time! I mean, you ARE a different woman now than a year ago, aren;'t you? :-) LOL! mediadir4@... wrote: So far, so good! I'm down about 80 pounds and it will be 4 months on Saturday. Guest guest
Kathleen, Ogunquit is nice, but so is York they are right next to each other if you can't find anything in Qgunquit, stay in york, they are right around the corner from each other. I work in Arlington and am thinking of moving to York, talk about a hike A while back I told you all about friends of mine who have a store and house for sale in York, well I was there this weekend. You know how real estate is right now, it is a bidding war out there, well they listed for 2.5 mil, bidding started and they have five people bidding who keep raising the price. Unbelievable!!! On the other hand, the reason I am thinking of moving there is because , on the other side of York, I can build a house with an acre of land for 120,000. compared to the prices around here that is awesome. Hope you have a wonderful time, no matter where you stay. Keep us posted. Jo Re: "extra skin" fear Ah,special day!!!! I'm on the net trying to find a place to stay in Ogunquit Maine this Saturday. Guest guest
, My boyfriend’s family has been going to York for years! They rent a tiny cottage bhind long sands. Also, after college, I scooped ice cream at the Goldenrod for a summer. I had a blast living up there, and now I get to go back every summer. - Alice A. Guest guest
Hey Jo! My family owns cottages up in York. I have spent summers there for as long as I can remember! I absolutely love it there. I am hoping to someday be able to afford a summer rental so that my daughter can enjoy the same great experiences up there that I did. My grandparents owned a cottage right near Flags camp group. My aunt owns it now, since their deaths, and I am hoping to rent her other cottage from her someday. Money is tight right now, so it is out of the question, but I will get there someday. -----Original Message-----From: william rich Sent: Wednesday, May 31, 2000 5:25 AMTo: OSSG-NewEnglandegroupsSubject: Re: "extra skin" fear Kathleen, Ogunquit is nice, but so is York they are right next to each other if you can't find anything in Qgunquit, stay in york, they are right around the corner from each other. Anyway wanted to know if you had tried the Cliff House. It is a beautiful place in Maine, my dh and I spent part of our honeymoon there. I am not sure if they would have any rooms but check it out. Also my anniversary (5 yrs) is on June 9th! Happy Anniversary to you! June is a busy month!!! Take care! mediadir4@... wrote: Ah,special day!!!! Guest guest
I love the Goldenrod!! We went up there for 4th of July a few years ago, and I brought my daughter down the " center " to the Wild Kingdom amusement park and she got to see them pull all the taffy at the goldenrod. As a matter of fact, I am so loyal to that place, I won't eat any other salt water taffy. I get a few boxes every time I go up there. I save one for myself, and I give a few out as gifts. They have the best taffy!!! Guess I won't be able to eat that after surgery. boo hoo. Oh well RE: " extra skin " fear , My boyfriend’s family has been going to York for years!
