Stuffed nose from crying??

Hi,

Valérie, you wrote that you are afraid, Leo might get a stuffed nose, if he

cries too much. Well, it is just the opposite with Fiona. There is no better way

to get the snotty nose cleared, than a few minutes of crying. It's weird, but I

have even thought, what kind of mucolytic effect that might be.

Is it just a Fiona-thing, or have others seen the same. and Jennie, you

are the snot-queens here, what do you think??

Bye-bye

It is this way with my kids too. But even if they weren't stuffed up to

begin with, their nose will run when they cry.

I think crying creates new snot - so it will run. I don't know if what you

see coming out is the new stuff only or some new and some old. (Isn't this

quite the discussion.)

Hi Lori,

of course the crying creates new snot. But interestingly the new stuff is much

less sticky than the old one and it will literally flush the old snot out.

When my 10 year old cries at night she ends up coughing up all kinds of junk

all night. Its great for a stuffed nose, but not a good nights sleep for the

parents.
