Guest guest
Thanks, Kaylene, She really is a good kid. She has a great head on her shoulders. Her mom has been sick for much of her life and she is used to helping her. She cooks (experiment actually) and cleans (but maybe not as often as Mom would like but she does clean) and do the laundry. She has a plan - she wants to go to college and become a doctor that helps children. She is working towards a scholarship. Hi Christie Your granddaughter is an exceptional young woman. I wish her the best in her pursuit. My sister Sandy ran the household during high school because our Mom was sick. She practically raised our youngest brother. I lived more than 100 miles away, worked fulltime and went to college full time, so I couldn't help her. My husband ( now ex) did take my brother off her hands for several weeks each summer. It was not easy, because Mom was very difficult to get along with, and at times jealous and even vicious. I don't know if she every thanked Sandy, but Dad appreciated her. Sandy did become a fantastic cook. My niece is a pediatrician, and loves it. It's a long road to get there, a lot of hard work, and long hours. Once again, I wish her well.
