Guest guest
Patti, think positive...I know it is hard...but if they are getting him off the respirator and up today...that is FANTASTIC!!!! You all are in our prayers!!!!! I've been there, I know where you are at!!!!! today's update on Mike I'm freaking.... I spoke to the transplant surgeon......first of all, the new liver is doing great, they are watching the hepatic artery... I'm worried about the tumour they found, Dr. McAllister told me it was the size of a lemon, in his belly, it's called a 'deltoid tumour', they don't have the biopsy report yet. What concerned me is that he said if they'd found it before they opened him up they probably wouldn't have done the surgery....does this mean he has cancer? Will the immunosuppressants aggrivate it? I don't know what to do, it's so hard being so far away and only getting answers second hand....he said most times these things are benign, so now, we wait again. That's all I have folks, they are getting him off the respirator today and getting him up. Thanks for your thoughts and well wishes, you have no idea how much it means to me. Guest guest
> > " I'm freaking.... " Patti Dear Patti: Just take things one day and one issue at a time. I know it must be so much more difficult to deal with not being right there with Mike. Sounds to me like Mike's situation right now is exactly where it should be. He's no doubt thrilled to get that respirator out of his mouth and, of course, it's great news that his new liver is doing so well. The two of you will be in my prayers. I hadn't checked my e-mail all weekend until late Monday night after returning from Omaha where I had my third annual post-tx checkup earlier that day. Just remember: Mike is the latest in a long string of blessings and miracles. Hang on. One more thing: I was touched to read your comments regarding the donor family and what they must be going through. Even if you never learn anything about the donor, that family will be part of your life forever. I just kept scrolling to get all the updates with my heart pounding out of my chest. I'll be praying ... and passing the request along. Oh yeah, I forgot your last name! . There's too much going on right now. I have serious brain FOG . Hang in there! Love ya Faith ('s mom)
Guest guest
Patti, Please don't waste nervous energy over something that you have no control over. He is in capable hands and they FOUND the tumour....... Why concentrate on all the obstacles along the journey instead of fixing you thoughts and prayers on reaching the destination ?? I have no idea what he is going through but my time will come.......he along with myself is quite a sick man....but we have been given a second chance...don't look at it any other way Tony B ( UK ) PSC 99 UC 00 currently the transplant list today's update on Mike > > > I'm freaking.... > I spoke to the transplant surgeon......first of all, the new liver is > doing > great, they are watching the hepatic artery... > I'm worried about the tumour they found, Dr. McAllister told me it was > the > size of a lemon, in his belly, it's called a 'deltoid tumour', they > don't > have the biopsy report yet. Guest guest
Patti, Try to relax. You'll make yourself sick with the anxiety. Let the Docs get the whole picture. It sounds like things have been done just in time. Your are in my prayers. Remember prayer does help.
