Donnie,

Re: EGO. Amen. I'll add that to my list. You hit it square when you

mention the time and money some people spend rationalizing and justifying

something that is very simply a mistake. This is what politicians call

" spin. " People are sick of it. That's why Bill O'Reilly's book and show

are

#1, because he has a " no spin " zone. We need some " no spin " zones in EMS.

How many times do you have to repeat this, ? Repeating the same

line in 4 emails is nothing more than a waste of bandwidth.

Also- I dont recall anyone appointing you as moderator... Lets leave

that to TDH.

TDH is not moderating this list.

I was replying to 4 different emails. If people are willing to jump all

over someone for posting stuff about Islam because it isn't related to the

practice of prehospital emergency medicine, then I was just excercising my

right to do the same. Every single damned day, we get lots of messages

(including this one) that have nothing to do with EMS. But it takes someone

posting something about a religion that many don't understand or don't care

for before many bring up the issue of it not belonging on this list.

Why am I so outraged by this (and yes, I'm well aware that the message was

SPAM)? I'm not Islamic. I'm Irish Catholic and a patriotic American. Not

that this really matters to this discussion. What really gets me is the

backlash at Muslims in general all over the country. Mosques being shot at.

People being harrassed. Why??? Because they're ignorant biggots. That

might be an overstatement of what has happened on this list. I certainly

hope that it is.

If we are going to make an example of people for posting off-topic subjects,

then lets not discriminate against religious posts only.

I, for one, will make an effort to make sure that all future posts are

related to the practice of prehospital emergency medicine in Texas. I hope

all of you will do the same. Before you post anything ask yourself if this

will make a positive difference for the other EMS personnel in Texas. If

the answer is no, DON'T POST IT!

Hey Joby! How's it going?

(Yeah, yeah, I know...not related to EMS. But someone

told me NOT to post it, so of course, I did!)

My My how tempers flare. Has everyone forgotten that we are all AMERICANS

and that we have ALL been affected by the past events much in the same

way????? No one needs to jump all over anyone for posting anything unless it

is a direct attack upon an individual, ethnic group or religion. Let

everyone hold hands, look at the beautiful stars that God created and smile.

For it could be much worse for all of us. We could be living in a iron age

stone building regime today as so many other unfortunate people are.

Remember that !!!

TDH is moderating this list- if they have a problem with a posting they take

care of it. (remember all the emails from TDH employees who are members of

this list about behavior? I know for one that they have removed members in the

past from this list- so evidently they are moderating something......

4 emails with the same sentence- still overkill. Waste of bandwidth. I am

not going to type this email 11 times to reply to each of the 11 people who have

since replied to my original email and your return comment.

The islam posting was " spam " - you could tell that by the number of groups it

was sent to: bagpipe_report <bagpipe_report >;

BC245XLT <BC245XLT >;

bluefoxnightdog <bluefoxnightdog >;

FT817 <FT817 >;

Posting off topic emails- and spam are two different things.

Speech & Freedom of Press.

Just as I am going to do with future rants on this subject- I will hit the
