update on lyse

Hi All,

I know I haven't been posting much on here lately, my whole family has been fighting upper respiratory infections so I have not been feeling like typing a whole lot.

Anyway I wanted to give an update on Annlayse. We have been into the doctor (pediatrician) a lot lately , and the doctor finally noted that her head is misshapen. I had been voicing my concerns to the ped since lyse's 2 month check-up, but didn't seem to be taken very seriously. We have been doing repo for about 2 months now and it does not seem to be doing much in fact it seems to have gotten worse. The ped is going to reevaluate her at her 4 month check-up the end of November and we will probably be referred to Childeren's Mercy in Kansas City to a Dr. Singhal(sp?), at least that is who I think our ped said.

I will try to post some update pics of lyse's head shape soon.

If anyone can tell me about Dr. Singhal please let me know. Also if you can tell me about band options in Kansas City that would be great to. I would prefer the DOC band as that is what my oldest daughter had and I loved the Cranial Tech people, but the nearest CT is in Dallas which is a six hour drive from here and I don't think my husband wants to do that. KC is only a 2.5 to 3 hour drive from here.

Thanks

Johanna,

We tried to get in to see Dr. Singhal and it was going to be about a two month wait. So, on the advice of someone here, I went to Dr. Colyer at St. Lukes. He is a plastic surgeon and has a craniofacial clinic. We were able to get in with just a weeks wait which was what I wanted as I wanted to get the ball rolling. He was great and we got the ball rolling right away. We are using Hanger Prosthetics in Overland Park for the Starband helmet as there is no place to get a DOCband close by. If you are familiar with DOCband, you might want to go with that route but I have found the Starband to be great. If you have any other questions, feel free to e-mail me at beamanfamily@...

I forgot to mention in my earlier post we used Hanger in Independence missouri. ette was great. She was wonderful with Jenna and her older brother and sister. She explained things to them and did a wonderful job. I have some before and afters of Jenna's in the photos and I believe there is a picture of Jenna with paulette at Orthomerica.com. Go under Allstar team members and click on Jenna.

Johanna,

Sorry to hear the family is under the weather. I hope everyone is feeling better soon. Have you checked the band database? My geography isn't great (at least not for particular cities). Also, we have a reffering physicians database. (NOTE TO ALL MEMBERS: WE NEED ENTRIES).
