HI Mandy,

From everything 'I' know.... there is no need to use protection if you have HPV.. the odds are .99% likely that both partners carry it if you've had sex, even if one has no symptoms and may 'never' have any symptoms. And again remember it's about 80% of the sexually population that does carry one strain or another of the HPV already.

Typically both will build up an immunity to that particular type or strain usually within a few years (and yes there are close to 100 types or strains, older studies will say less.) But..... here's the glitch.. with so many strains out there if one were to switch partners, then you 'may' pick up a different strain and then have to build up a resistance to that new one.

It's sort of like pregnancy, once you are, you are and can't get 'more' pregnant and why protection at this stage (with the same partner) isn't really necessary. Or think of it like an injection (what a way to get one *chuckle* ) but it's true... you've been injected with the virus in a way and now you'll build up an immunity to it and it really is like a vaccination of sorts as they inject you with a small portion of the virus so that you do become immune to it. My thoughts on it.

Dee~ ; )

Plantar warts (on the bottom of the feet) cause a lot of pain. I would assume

that any kind of wart which is irritated continuously would be the source of

pain.

Plantar warts are caused by the HPV virus.
