Hello Dickon. You've come to the right place. And you're right, a

12-Step program is no place for anyone with an ounce of intelligence.

As AA folks are fond of saying around here, " No one is too stupid to

work the Steps, but some people are just too smart. " It's kind of like

you're Charlton Heston in " The Planet of the Apes, " you know you better

get the hell out of their before they emasculate and lobotomize you.

, I don't know who invented that cliche, only that I've heard it

far too often. First time was at a rehab joint in Texas. It has also

been invoked in California.

I just wish AAWS would print a pamphlet to tell newcomers exactly what

the intelligence cutoff point is.
