Guest guest
Cheryl, I don't think there is a quick fix for a long term yeast infection. I did take presciption oral diflucan years ago along with a " cleansing " diet. This was prediagnosis of psc. The diet had me give up yeast products, sugar, and soda probably some other things too. I don't have yeast infections now though. I do have plenty of other problems that deal with immune problems. Do you take a lot of anitbiotics? BTW, I've known of men who get chronic yeast infections too. I don't know if we can take diflucan with liver disease. Sorry I wasn't more help. Guest guest
Cherykl, I've been on maintenance antibiotics for years now, so I get infections now and then. Diflucan is what my doctor prescribed. It helps immediately, and I don't even have to do the full course if I catch the infection in time. It is expensive and not all insurances will cover it, but it works for me! Guest guest
>My partner Deb has persistent problems with yeast infections and has really struggled with 24/7 antibiotic use. She didn't tolerate the diflucan well, I can't remember why now. ANyway, she takes 2 capsules of acidophilus three times a day, plus yeast medication as needed. It seems to keep things at a tolerable level for her. She also takes her antibiotics now at one week on and one week off, which helps.
