I appreciate your humor. I hope you get your breathing problems given some attention. I never heard of using an inclined bed or having to stay on your back for a sleep study. I had a hard enough time sleeping on a flat comfy bed in any position I wanted.

Please let us know what the other docs have to say.

Hi All...

Just wanted to drop a hello to all, and share with you all a slight

update in Jennland.

I had a PFT several days ago that showed " Severe Restrictive

Ventilatory Defect " . I spoke with my Neuro (Teri Heimen )

who thinks that this is all due to fatigue and weakness, and didn't

seem too into doing much about it untill I had my sleep study (was

last night).

I didn't sleep during the Damn sleep study! My arse hurt so much

after sitting in my wheelchiar for twelve hours (all day during

school) that when they made me sleep on an inclined bed with my head

up about three pillows worth, and on my back, I kept having back

spasms down into my legs, and it really really hurt! I tried to no

avail to explain to the technition that when you sit all day, you

need to releive pressure in the, um...in the uhhh...neither regions

because otherwise it realy hurts, and he just didn't get it, so I

didn't sleep, then had to get up and go to school...thank god for

lecture classes in big lecture halls, because that's were I got my

sleep! Darn it! Anyway, I don't really agree with my neuro; however,

I see the pulmonologist in a week, and the cardiologist this coming

week. My breathing stinks, and is becoming more and more

uncomfortable.

Other then that, school is going well, I like my classes, and my

professors are being pretty supportive.

Thought that I would share my slightly off centered sense of humor

with you...I told my mother, Mitochondria are sort of like sperm...if

in the wrong place at the wrong time...they can cause you a lifetime

of hell.

Thinking of you all.

jennifer,

hey there, sounds like you got too many things going on at once like me right

now. i dont see how you do school but- i was going to go back this semester

(been doing online since i dropped out about 2 yrs ago) but this semester was

going to train to be a medical transcriptionist but the class got cancelled

grrr. But im kinda glad it did cuz right after it was my body decided it

really wanted to mess with me. Dont ya hate those sleep studies? i got one of

them next week, i dont see how they think we can sleep with all that stuff

hooked up to us and then some. ive had it done before and was shocked that i

slept at all. they needed to be sympathetic to your butt pain. hehe. but i do

know how that is, pain in the butt isnt it? lol well, im sorry you are having

so many problems with breathing. im having to go to a pulmonologist after i

see my cardiologist next week cuz of everything going on with my heart and

lungs right now. and darn brochitis decided to sneak its way into me and

brought its friends pleurisy and upper respiratory infection with him, grrr.

course, im jacked up on high steroids and cough syrup w/hydrocodone in it, so

im feeling purdy good right now lol. i hope they figure out exactly whats

going on with your lungs soon. My dr thinks i have something called shrinking

lung syndrome (think thats what its called) cuz of how my diaphram is

elevated on one side and pushing up on my left lung too much. wonder if that

is a mito problem. hrm. who knows. anyways, glad that your school is going

well and professors are understanding. keep up the good work with school, you

motivate me to go and try again with it. :-) Oh, like your little sperm

analogy. hehe. im thinking of you and sending you healing hopes.

take care,

adrienne

Yo Jen,

I saw Dr. for 9 years. I eventually left her because her office

misplaced test results and generally i felt that she was not giving me

proper attention. I spoke to her on several occasions about these issues and

she would always promise to do better but in the end I came to the

conclusion that she had too many patients. If you are concerned about your

test result stay on her so that you get proper attention. Dave
