Guest guest
Jessie, Welcome to you and your family. Can I ask which doctor you are seeing? I know it won't be the same one we see, since we live in Iowa and see Dr. Weinstein here at the University of Iowa, but it is nice to see some of the other doctors being represented here. As for covering the bar, I would highly recommend it. It is not really for cosmetic reasons, but the fact that the bars leave some quite large bruises when you get kicked by them. I know when my son Jakob was that little (he's nearly 3 1/2 now), we constantly had bruises on our legs because of how we held him. Many people use the padded handlebar covers from bicycles or make a cover from foam pipe insulation covered with fabric or even car seat strap covers. puddynnuella@... wrote: > Hello. Guest guest
I travel to New York to see a Dr. M. Scher who is affiliated with the hospital for joint diseases. They have a club foot clinic every Tuesday where private patients as well as not receive treatment. Since my son is a private patient I don't know what is covered if you don't have insurance. A Dr. Lehman is also a doctor there and according to an administrative staff member has performed surgery on club feet for over twenty years and has now decided that the Ponseti Method is the better way to go. He and Dr. Scher have received training by Dr. Ponseti and remain in close contract with him regarding his technique. The club foot clinic is only a couple of years old but there is no doubt in my mind that they are the right doctors and are performing the Ponseti Method correctly. If I had not found these doctors would be on the first plane to Iowa in the morning so I'm very thankful that they are so close. Thanks for the impute on the bar coverings I'll look for the bicycle coverings tomorrow. Jessie and
Guest guest
, We have the same doctors!!!! I wonder if we have seen each other at the clinic on Tuesdays or not? I live in Fishkill and take the train to Grand Central from Cold Spring this is the best way to get him there. I have him in his car seat which fits into a stroller and when we get to GC I just take a taxi from there. is just out of his last casting and into the shoes about two weeks now and he also had a tendonomy on both feet done by Dr. Scher, who is very fond of. At our last appointment I was a little afraid that would remember the tendonomy and associate the pain he had been in with Dr. Scher but he gave him a big smile! I don't know much about Queens but you must have a shorter trip than I do. May I ask how you found Dr. Lehman & Dr. Scher? I'm curious because it took me three tries to get the right doctor for . Is n going to have a tendonomy? How old is he? Jessie and
Guest guest
, I live in Massachusettes and have not been on for some time now. My son was born with a right clubfoot on October 28, 1999. We travel to NY to see Dr. Harold Van Bosse whom practices the Ponseti Method. He has done a great job with our son Zachary. If you wish you can e-mail me with any questions and I will try to answer them. Best of luck, Kathy
