I felt like a new person...and kept thinking to myself " I haven't felt like this since my early 30s! " ....and I'm 48 now! It's rather bizarre at times...like traveling back in time...only I now have to figure out what parts have naturally aged and therefore are okay to hurt every once in a while. I felt a difference within the first week of starting on 1/2 grain of Armour. Cindi
Guest guest
Hello NaturalThyroidHormones, I think i'm expecting something amazing -like Popeye's reaction to spinach. How long does it take to make a difference? I am on a low dose as my adrenals are very weak [ ½ grain Armour plus 25 mcg thyroxine ] -- Best regards, Alison http://www.alisonashwell.com mailto:alison.ashwell@... new work uploaded http://www.artwanted.com/alisonashwell http://www.voodoochilli.net/artists/alisonashwell/
Guest guest
I think you're going to feel better . Now, no beating up on Bluto! But maybe in a few days. taken my first dose of Armour today > Hello NaturalThyroidHormones, > > I think i'm expecting something amazing -like Popeye's reaction to > spinach. > How long does it take to make a difference? > > I am on a low dose as my adrenals are very weak [ ½ grain Armour > plus 25 mcg thyroxine ] > Best regards, > Alison
Guest guest
Good for you, Alison!! Welcome to the world of Armour. Some folks get the Popeye reaction fairly quick--a few days. Others may take a week or more. It's individual. I'm glad to read you are starting low. Just make sure you don't stay on the low dose too long or your hypo will return with a vengeance. And hopefully you have a good adrenal support if you know your adrenals are weak---I can't remember. Janie > I think i'm expecting something amazing -like Popeye's reaction to spinach. I will be seeing the dr in just over 2 weeks, so i won't be on this low dose for long, unless my adrenals can't handle it. They have crashed previously -but if that happens this time I've been told to cut the thyroxine out and keep on the Armour so we shall see how it goes. I have had a cold for the last few days and i know my adrenals have been suffering from that -so they could crash l> And hopefully you have a good l> adrenal support if you know your adrenals are weak---I can't l> remember. I've been on adrenal support for about 2 and a half months -a glandular [DSF Formula from nutri-meds ] and it is definitely helping clear the betacarotene from my skin - i am still yellow but a lighter shade rather than the tanned look i had before. -- Best regards, Alison http://www.alisonashwell.com mailto:alison.ashwell@... new work uploaded http://www.artwanted.com/alisonashwell http://www.voodoochilli.net/artists/alisonashwell/

This is interesting ! Adrenal support " un-tans " one ?????? Did Dr. Chapman say that ?? This is the first time I hear that adrenal support ( or adrenals ) has anything to do with the colour of your skin ! I only know about the brown spots , but that's apparently not what you are talking about . ..... because I had a strange experience : while taking a med , an antibiotic actually , I turned a very nice sun tan colour . I also felt pretty bad at that time and after . ----- Could maybe the med have affected my adrenals ???? ne in France http://www.geocities.com/thyroide Except that I don't see what problem you have with a nice sun tan ?! ;-)

It seems that beta carotene can be concentrated in the skin when the adrenals and thyroid are bad due to being unable to convert beta carotene to vitamin A. I am normally 'milk white' but i have over the past couple of years developed a yellow cast to my skin which i hadn't noticed develop and i suppose I'd have put it down to living in the South of France except last year i did not spend any time in the sun [i was too cold!!] and its all over my body - not just the bits that are routinely exposed to the sun . It isn't jaundice Its apparently due to low adrenal and thyroid function . Also there is also hyperpigmentation of the skin due to increased melanin when the adrenals are failing - i have that too - and that tends to be in areas exposed to light and/or where the skin rubs . My face is definitely clearer looking though not completely -it was very weirdly tanned at Xmas s> ..... because I had a strange experience : while taking a med , an s> antibiotic actually , I turned a very nice sun tan colour . Guest guest
Vitamins A, D, & E are not water soluable - so they build up in your system - especially if your body doesn't use them... I always had very white rosy skin until around two yrs ago. I don't sunbathe or spend hardly any time in the sun, yet, in this short time, my sking has become this yellowish muddy color that I can't seem to get rid of. Then, for around a week or so, it looks normal and rosy again. No explanation for this. I have that yellowish red look to the palms of my hands, and I had read way back there that this could be a sign of liver upset, yet, my liver function tests and bilirubin always come back in a very normal range, along with the other liver enzymes. Guest guest
It's the way your liver might process certain drugs, I think. I just asked about this same type of thing. I think there's something called " sick serum syndrome " from drugs that you are very senstive to. Out-and-out 's would darken the skin generally. But probably so would the places between normal and that.
