Just wondering...is there anything I should make sure I ask the orthotist tomorrow before I leave with the helmet? Look in our photos section and on the website of the company you're getting the band from (I can't remember what type of band you're getting!) to see what the band should fit like. I'm sure that your orthotist will go over the break in period and care of the helmet with you. gave you good advice about the fit; don't be surprised if it is a " little bit " loose at first. Perhaps have him lay down in it and crawl/roll around while you're there (I don't know the age of your child, sorry) to see how/if the helmet moves around or rubs his ear too much/blocks eye. Please let us know how it goes and next time when you sign your name at the bottom, perhaps write your baby's name, age and type of band too. Thanks! At least you did catch it when you did.My son is 9 months and just got his band (2 weeks today). At todays appointment we'll see if anything has changed...yet! He was on the severe end of the spectrum. As far as the heat goes, keep your daughter very lightly dressed...we've had some days when Khalid was in nothing but a diaper and helmet. New to the group, and new to the whole process of banding. My daughter, , gets her helmet tomorrow (Weds). I'm nervous about what to ask and how I'm going to feel about the whole thing. I've been trying to visualize her in the helmet, but I know that seeing her in it tomorrow will make it real. The reason I'm having a hard time is because I feel guilty. My daughter's first daycare left her in her car seat during the day. She was there for 2 months, and we didn't know until a week before she switched to the place she goes to now (she had to be 3 months old to get into the school she's at now, so the home daycare was always going to be a temp thing). I had done all the research on the home daycare, checked with the state, refs., shown up at various points, etc., but I guess you still just never know. I used to pick Em up at the same time (after work) each day, and had gotten out early one day, so had gone to get her early. 3 of the 4 infants were strapped into their infant carriers, lined up in a row. When I took out, she was covered in sweat. No wonder she'd been so fussy when she came home every night, since she wasn't doing anything during the day. She's a premie as well, so her development was slightly lagging anyways. She's now at a GREAT school and has caught up and surpassed development goals. is 9 and a half months, which is a bit late for banding, from what I understand. Has anyone else started around this time and seen success? I don't know the percents for , but I know that her head is off 8.4mm (just enough for insurance to cover it). Any ideas on how to deal with heat rash? We live in the desert, so I know it'll happen. It was 105 degrees today, and it's not the hottest part of the year yet... Thanks for any tips/advice/ ideas.
