Guest guest
Hi Amy, Up until about a year and a half ago I worked out at the gym, cardio and weight training. Then my hypothyroidism hit big time and my adrenals about pooped themselves right out and I stopped everything. Just two weeks ago I started back. What is important is to make time, do only what you feel right doing ---do not over do it our adrenals will get mad at us! AND most importantly for ME....I take unrefined salt throughout my workout and I feel great!!! Plus drink good water with it. I'm working my way back to it...I feel good...the salt for me was the key. And yes you are right...strong muscles keep our bones from injury as easily...and you feel so much better with a little spring in your step from strong muscles! BUT before this I could not exercise. At all. For me the salt made all the difference. Michigan > I realize this topic may have been covered, but I thought I'd ask > again: has anyone tried weight lifting for exercise? Guest guest
I am still working out now too but the weight loss stopped after about 5 pounds and goes right back on the minute I take a day off. I was reading on a group for people with thyroids ablated with radiation; they take much lower doses of T3/T4 than we do here. I sure wish I could figure out the right dose. It seems higher is not helping. -- Re: Weight training, anyone?/Amy Hi Amy, Up until about a year and a half ago I worked out at the gym, cardio and weight training. Guest guest
Amy and , I tried walking yesterday and felt fine while doing it. I went from doing one lap to two and then did a tiny bit of landscaping afterward. Granted it was hot even early in the morning, but the rest of the day I just fell out! Was so tired! Is this how one feels after exercising when adrenals are low? My hips hurt so bad that I could not sleep last night either. This could be fibro related too. You used up ALL your cortisol then when it went low thyroid could no longer get to the cells, and oyu immediately go hypo. hypo pain is HORRIBLE. I knwo I used to have hip and back pain so bad I was on pain meds all the time for it. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets
Guest guest
I think it's the Tetroxin that's not helping too. It's just not doing it for me like Cytomel did. I should have asked here before going ahead and ordering. But it had been so long I thought I had the same med as before. And it sure didn't take much activity to use up my cortisol reserve!!! Talk about learning patience! Thanks Val for your explanation. It really helps. Be well, W T wrote: >>Is this how one feels after exercising when adrenals are low? Guest guest
I only know how it affects ME it may be different for you so I would keep the dose the same and go by temps and pulse to adjust it. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets

Guest guest
I just finished the Broda book and I am going to try his high fat diet approach. I eat high protein and according to him, one needs way more thyroid supplementation when on a high protein diet. I had never read that before. Anyone here tried this? -- Re: Re: Weight training, anyone?/Amy Amy and , I tried walking yesterday and felt fine while doing it. Guest guest
I wonder the same thing. I finally feel better in the late afternoons and I exercise and feel pretty good for the rest of the night. The next morning I feel terrible. I have tried taking HC before bed, in the morning, after a work out, increasing the T3 dose, etc, but still worn out the next morning and mornings in general. The later I sleep the worse I feel. Anyone have similar experiences? -- Re: Re: Weight training, anyone?/Amy Amy and , I tried walking yesterday and felt fine while doing it. Guest guest
I guess from what Val has written that we don't have enough reserve cortisol to enable us to exercise. I miss it so much. My muscles have wasted to the point that I'm looking and feeling a lot older. This just happened during the last six months when my fibro flared so badly. I'm doing better so far as normal activity. The exhaustion was definitely improving until I pushed myself yesterday. But when I look at it, is a mere two laps really pushing it??? Geez. Don't mean to be crying in my soup. Be well, W " C. Guest guest
I used to get really wiped out after my workouts. For me it does correlate to the cardio though. I just have to be careful how much and how strenuous the cardio gets. I'm now to where I can do 30 minutes or a little more on the bike and I don't feel wiped out. Recently starting detoxing with the new QRS system we got and I love it. It really makes me feel good and it's almost totally fixed my foot (plantar fasciitis). I feel like crap if I sleep too late.
