I know the lambdoid sutures fuse when they are 2. I would assume that

the head would be hardened at that time. I could be wrong, but at one

year, I am not sure you will see a lot of results from repositionong

since the child can move from one position to another easily. Unless

your child has delays which keep them in the same position, you could

probably relent and just move things around here-and-there.

you can check this site out www.drgreene.com/21_855.html it

talks about the Fontanel (soft spot). Hope this information helps. I

had the same concern. Except I was afraid that my daughters would

close before she got her band.

mom to S., CA

-ONH

-Central Hypotonia

-Torticollis (mostly resolved)

-Brachy/Plagio soon to be DOCbanded.

My PS and NS said between 18-24 months! It seems long- but it will go by so fast! ;)

Usually the head is pretty much set by age 2 but every child's

sutures close at their own pace. Does your baby have plagio or are

you just trying to prevent it? My first child had plagio so I

really kept an eye on my 2nd baby but once she hit 3 months and her

head was nice and round still, I let her position herself.
