Guest guest
he has slight neck tightness, not tort (according to Cranial Tech). We have been doing exercises with him and he is a big boy and is usually content on either his back or belly, which is why he had thought he wasn't rolling until it hit us one day that maybe it was from the neck tightness. Thanks for the info. >From: " darabeth2003 " <dalewine@...> >Reply-Plagiocephaly >Plagiocephaly >Subject: Re: neck tightness and not rolling connection? >Date: Mon, 11 Oct 2004 16:45:43 -0000 > > >Are you saying he has neck tightness? Guest guest
, So maybe he is a very content little boy. How about putting some really exciting toys just out of his reach so he has to move to get them? That might help with crawling so maybe it'll help with rolling too. Also, play little rolling games with him - i.e. you make him do the rolling back and forth while you sing or play with toys or tickle him. mom to nalaura gill <mamagill@...> wrote: he has slight neck tightness, not tort (according to Cranial Tech). Guest guest
Thanks . We've tried just about everything to get him to roll. He's closer to crawling than rolling! He gets on all fours and rocks himself. The only time he'll roll is if we push him up onto his side no matter how hard we work with him at it. Our ORT at Cranial Tech just responded to my email saying he may need PT and that if he is not rolling yet we should not encourage crawling. I'm not sure on how i feel about that one! I'm going to contact his ped to see what she thinks. >From: Filyaw <monicash@...> >Reply-Plagiocephaly >Plagiocephaly >Subject: RE: Re: neck tightness and not rolling connection? >Date: Mon, 11 Oct 2004 10:04:30 -0700 (PDT) > >, >So maybe he is a very content little boy. Guest guest
, I think I read that somewhere. Rolling is a key milestone but crawling can be skipped (of course crawling for tort babies is key because of the upper body muscle building). I would do some more on-line research on this too. mom to nalaura gill <mamagill@...> wrote: Thanks . We've tried just about everything to get him to roll. He's closer to crawling than rolling!
