I don't know if this was posted to the list yet but I know the Blues Clues

tapes with sign language have been discussed here before and thought that you

may want to read this.

'Blue's Clues' Wins 'Deaf Awareness in the Media' Award

Nick Jr.'s " Blue's Clues " will be honored by the Greater Los Angeles Council

on Deafness (GLAD) with the " Deaf Awareness in the Media " Award at GLAD's 2nd

Annual Awards Luncheon, being held Thursday, May 3, in Los Angeles. " Blue's

Clues " is being recognized for incorporating deaf culture into each

episode.GLAD was established as a volunteer organization in 1969, based on

the philosophy of improving the lives of the deaf and hard of hearing.

Founded on the philosophy " of, by and for the deaf, " 51% of the Board and/or

staff are deaf or hard of hearing. Using sign language, visual communication

and interactive participation together, " Blue's Clues " continues to make

educational television more accessible to families with deaf children.One of

the most popular pre-school shows on television, " Blue's Clues " challenges

and empowers preschoolers while making them laugh. In each episode,

live-action host Steve invites young viewers to help him and Blue, his

energetic girl puppy, solve the day's puzzles. The series has made strides in

pre-school television by exploring advanced subject matter such as sign

language, geography, physics, emotions and anatomy.Nick Jr. is a specially

designed programming block airing on Nickelodeon weekdays and on CBS on

weekends. Completely dedicated to preschoolers ages 2-5 and hosted by the

animated character Face, Nick Jr. programs are curriculum based, fun and
