lol, if you use it a lot I would say it's time for a new one. We haven't

had our pulmo-aide that long, but we have a pulmo mate that we've had a long

time. It overheats too, and then the hose blows of because it gets hot. I

'thought' it was taking a long time also, but I have been starting my kids

TOBI at the exact same time, with one using the new pulmo aid and one using

the old pulmo mate and they both take the same amount of time. Sorry I

wasn't much help! But it's always nice to get a new one, especially if your

insurance covers most or all of the cost.

Hi,

We've had the Pulmo-Aide compressor for almost 1 1/2 years

and I'm wondering how often we're supposed to buy a new one ?

I think that it starts overheating a bit sometimes and I wonder if it

isn't also a bit less powerful than it used to be ?

Hi,

I'm sorry I didn't see your last message. What I've been told by the PariNeb

people is that you should replace your compressor every 2 years with the kind

of heavy use CFers give them. It sounds like yours might need to be replaced

early!

Good luck!

Hi, . I just signed onto this list so was just sitting reading

messages, trying to get to know a little more about everyone before I jumped

in. BUT, we've been through several compressors over the last 9 years so I

thought I'd respond. We use either a Duraneb or Proneb. Right now we're

using the ProNeb 2000 portable unit which can plug into the house, car or

run off a battery. All of our compressors have lasted at least 2 years but

I think it does depend on how frequently you're having to use them. If

you're running them every 3 - 4 hours, you're going to see a shorter life on

them. We typically run ours about an hour in the morning, 30 - 45 minutes

in the evening. About 5 to 6 times a year, we're running it every 3 - 4

hours for about 5 to 1- days. And, ours have all lasted at least 2 years.

Make sure and change the filter though. They get very dirty and that makes

a difference on how well the air flows. And, a clogged filter will cause

the unit to overheat.

Good luck,

Tammie
