Guest guest
Hi, . My daughter, Hannah, is getting her helmet this friday. She will be 6 months on that day so what a nice birthday present...LOL. Anyway, I am in the same exact boat as you are. I am a little nervous about what is to come with her wearing the helmet. I, too, wonder what people will say when we are out in public. Thanks for asking this question because a lot of your feedback from other group members has really supported and helped me out. Please keep in touch and let me know how your experience is going. I will let you know how our experience is going as well. Good luck!! shari > > hi my daughter is going to be fitted with a star band in a little > over a week, my question is did you have alot of people come up to > you about your child wearing one and how did you handle answering > their questions. thankyou > angela/san diego ca
Guest guest
Hi.. I too was really worried about how I wuld feel with my son wearing a helmet, and what people would say, and how I would handle it. I think it is only natural to feel this way. I think in my head I figured that I am quite a nosey and curious person. I think (no, I know!!) I am also guilty of a little speculation and gossip too, and a part of me felt it might be other people's time to kind of get their own back on me, if that makes sense?! has had his helmet for a week now. I have been very keen to get myself out and about, although with a 4yr old that needs dropping off and picking up from school this isn't hard. I was really worried about the first morning at the school gates, and I asked a friend to walk in with me. The thing was when the first morning came round, I felt so happy and confident about it that I could have gone by myself I think. Anyhow, a few asked questions, and I noticed a lot of mums listening to the answer, and that in my view is great, because it spreads the word about it......especially here in the UK, where there really aren't that many helmets at all!! People are astounded that he is unphased by it, and I have so far only had positive responses. I hope that is how it stays. I am not sure how I will feel if I get negative feedback, but I will cross that bridge if and when it arises I guess. As for how I feel about my son.......he is so cute and gorgeous! I did wonder and worry whether I would feel differently about him once he was helmetted.........and I don't. If anything I want to cuddle him all the more, but you have to beware of black eys and bruised jawlines!! I think you will be surprised at how well you settle into it all, and when you see the results, it will all be worth it! I know that I have surprised myself! The other thing I did was to tell people about it as much as possible before we got it, so other people were prepared too! I hope it all goes really well for you both...... All the best and (plagio, Cranio 4/10)sbcollns <sbcollns@...> wrote: Hi, . My daughter, Hannah, is getting her helmet this friday.
