Guest guest
Two years ago or so, I joined Weight Watcher's and lost 70 lbs due to moderate diet and exercise. I was within 20 lbs of my goal weight, when I turned 40 and all of my hormones went crazy. I developed thyroid problems and, in an attempt to fix the other hormone problems, started an over-the-counter progesterone cream. Shortly thereafter, while still dieting and exercising, I gained 15 lbs rapidly within a two week period. I have spent the last year trying to lose it again - I intensified the dieting and exercising and gained another 7 lbs. I have noticed that carbohydrates, which were never a problem before, are now a real problem. Before, mere dieting and exercise were enough. I don't have any of the clinical signs of insulin resistance (I have low blood sugar, low cholestriol, low estrogen and low testerone), but it looks like my body is behaving as if I had insulin resistance. I have greatly reduced the carbohydrates and am counting them each meal, snack, and daily. I started losing weight, but if I have too many in one meal, but am still low overall for the day, I gain 2 lbs overnight. I feel like I am losing this fight. So, here are my questions. Has anyone had this experience and has anyone had any success in combating it? Has the on-going taking of Armour helped at all with weight loss or the continual gain of weight? Is daily exercise required? Any recommendations? Thanks. Holly
