Hi,

Have you been tested for thyroid antibodies? If not, do you know if

thyroid disease runs in your family. If you don't have anitbodies

and/or it does not run in your family, I would say that you have

stumbled on the answer to your low thyroid function. I would continue

this and see how it all works out. I would, however, be careful if you

have autoimmune thyroid disease in your family. It is still

questionable if iodine can trigger autoimmune thyroid issues (hyper &

hypo). Many gals on here have posted the ill effects of iodine,

especially with Hashimoto patients.

There are many great benefits of iodine on the body. If you are not

suseptible to autoimmune disease of the thyroid, you can get great

benefits from iodine. It naturally kills off foreign invaders to the

body including: flus, colds, and even cancer. It is also been touted

to cure the early stages of breast cancer. SOme forms come from

fybrocystic breasts, and iodine can totally eliminate fibrocystic

breast tissue with the proper amounts, thus reducing your chances of

breast cancer significantly. This is also true of colon and prostate

cancer. Look it up on the net. Type in cancer and iodine therapy. You

can read lots of info from Dr. Derry's research as well. It's

interesting :).

No I have not been tested for antibodies, but there is no thyroid

disease in my family that I know about. Thanks for the interesting

input! :)

Katy, it doesn't have to be thyroid disease. Autoimmune issues run the gamut. In

my biological family there is diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, Cushings disease,

MS all are autoimmune. What diseases do run in your family?

Apart from the fact that my father died of a heart attack aged 53,

there are no diseases I know of that run in the family. Nobody has

diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, cushings or MS.
