Guest guest
I got my wires out about a week ago... local anesthetic only, i had wires in the top and bottom... narrow gauge, the top one was about an inch long, the bottom was almost two inches. He literally yanks them right out, and everything I know about wires and " yanking " tells me it should have hurt like hell... but it didn't it was totally painless, even after the anesthetic wore off. One thing that stung a touch was the three!! tubes of Lidocaine he injected... but not bad at all. > A month or so ago I'd asked y'all if it was a big deal to have one > of the wires permanently left in the jaw after orthognathic surgery > removed. Thanks for the info....my doc is so noncommunicative that I didn't even KNOW I had wires....the lil brochure he hands out shows screws in the bone....but today I learned I had wires, and one has to come out! I get this really ouchy pinchy feeling whenever I chew, or talk, on one side. I FINALLY get doc to look in my mouth (I think he's looked insided twice since surgery two months ago). He says, " oh, that wire is trying to come out " .....but he says wait A MONTH! I say, " what do I do about the pain? " He laughs, " don't talk so much! " grrrrrr. Don't know what I'd do without this group to educate me. Why did YOU have to have your wire out?
