Try making him say " right ______ pubic ramus " . I'm not sure what that word

could be in between there, but possibly anterior or posterior?

First, yes, the iliopsoas is a muscle in the leg. Stedman's Ortho shows TFL =

tensor fascia lata, which is a muscle in the gluteal region. Of course, we all

know that abbreviations can mean different things. If you hear TFL, then I'd

advise transcribing it since we can document a muscle in the region of

examination with this acronym.

Can anyone tell me if I am using the correct word and acronym here?

3. ROM: The patient has full painless ROM of the hip and lumbar spine.

Testing of the s/l iliopsoas and s/l TFL are within normal limits.
