Guest guest
Hi again. YES I AM PLEASED!!! My next child will be named CT, or maybe DOC Baby. Before the age of 15 mos, almost nobody noticed the plagio. A friend of mine saw the enormous bulge of his forehead bossing at 2 mos and pointed it out to me, but nobody else really noticed. I pointed it out to his docs and they blew it off, said it would round out on its own, etc. After 15 mos it started to be more noticeable. At 17 mos he lost some of the baby fat in his cheeks. THEN you could see it. Since facial features don't really develop until ages 3-5, you don't notice the facial asymmetry as much in a baby as you will when it's older (and too late). By 17 mos, though, he was really starting to look odd. He looked smashed, like playdough. People were starting to notice. They didn't come up and yell, " That baby looks weird! " but family and friends were starting to look at him closely and frown, and if I pointed out things like his completely wonky hairline or the bossing, or showed them his face in a mirror, they would start getting crabby. So no, at your baby's age no one could really see it, but as he grew it really started becoming apparent. At his age there were no options for him locally, so we flew from Seattle to San Diego every three weeks for the DOC Band. Treatment in Seattle is primitive at best--Clarren (passive helmet) only, and a lot of ignorant peds. His measurements were, before and after: cranial vault: 10mm 1mm cranial base: 7mm 1mm facial: 6mm 1mm Tee hee hee! By the way, these measurements were taken three weeks before graduation, to save us another trip to San Diego. He got a little more correction in those three weeks. Again, he still has some asymmetry--the measurements don't account for everything, like hairline--but he is normal! He really looks good. All that brutal travel were really worth it. I would do it again in a minute. Oh, if a Starband had been available in Seattle I'm sure I would have done it. But the DOC Band is the only one indicated for babies over 18 mos, and was nearly 18 mos already. It was our only choice. Hope this helps! Are you excited about 's band? , 21 mos, DOC Grad 9/7 > It's really amazing and very encouraging. You must me so pleased! Can > you quantify the assymetry in mm? Guest guest
Thank you for all that information. You must feel really proud of what you've achieved. Yes I am excited but cautious at the same time. (, 14 months, plagio) > > It's really amazing and very encouraging. You must me so pleased! > Can > > you quantify the assymetry in mm? Guest guest
Not proud. Just VERY pleased with that magic little DOC Band. And absolutely disgusted with my son's peds. How could they do this to a little kid? , 21 mos, DOC Grad 9/7 > > > It's really amazing and very encouraging. You must me so pleased! > > Can > > > you quantify the assymetry in mm? Guest guest
Hey , My daughter Hannah also wore a DOCband at the " older " age of 15 mos. It was her third band actually, but in the DOCband before and after photo section you can see what a dramatic change she had even in that third band from 15-19 mos. , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad 7/29 Cape Cod, Ma > > > > > > > It's really amazing and very encouraging.
