Hi , i'm a chef too...sometimes it's great (think leftover filet

mignon) sometimes it sucks (think leftover lasagne) but i try to make a

stockpile of stuff I can eat in our walk in, and no one touches it...except

for my G(%#)#%@(*DAMM PORK RINDS!!!! yes, they made FUN of me when i lugged

my case of pork rinds in there, but soon they were coveting my

porkrinds....secretly sneaking them at first then BLATANTLY STEALING

THEM....those weasles...trouble is, they are lower in fat than potato chips,

lower in salt, lower in calories, and higher in protein, so no matter how

anyone eats, they fit right in.....

i'm gonna start hiding them....

good luck!

Our clinic (Packard Children's) does do the 28 on/off protocol for some

people but not for us. I'm thinking it might be time. Especially since

Ricky's a lot more neb compliant ever since we got the Vest in June. I'm

also wondering if he might benefit from Pulmozyme... Which would probably

bring our grand total nebbing time to about 45-60 minutes.

Becky,

I would go for the tobi and pulmozyme....I think it has alot to do with how

healthy is right now, and can't imagine how sick Mallory would be

without those two things. Our ENT told us that he thinks Mallory would be on

ivs constantly if it were not for Tobi.

Take care,

Jen

Becky,

Why is only on Tobi for two weeks at a time? has been on the 28

on/off for over a year now, and the sinus stuff has been kept under control

as well.

Just a thought,

I think I would push for the 28 on/off now, especially since he doesn't seem

to be responding right now. was on Pulmozyme as well, but recently

able to stop since he hardly ever coughs and when he is doing pulmozyme he

doesn't cough either. So we will put it on the back burner until it seems

like he needs it. I truly believe that the Tobi has helped keep his sinuses

better, he uses a mask.

Good luck,

Daelynn

Hi newbies

I have been gone for the past two weeks and have been on " no mail " , but I do

know we have had several new people join. Welcome to all of you.

I am a 60 year old female with a confirmed mitochondrial disorder. I live in

Michigan. My sister ( on the list), her daughter, one of my sons and

my mother have diagnosed mito. My other son and two brothers are thought to

have it too.

I am still teaching special needs students. I work with only 1-3 students at

a time and do the paperwork for about 100 special education students in the

school district I am assigned to. I am looking forward to retirement in a

couple of years.

I use a scooter except inside the house where I can bounce off the walls -

hopefully :-). My symptoms include muscle weakness and cramping, myoclonus,

neuropathy, spleep apnea, asthma, some heart involvement and kidney wasting

of magnesium, and phosphorus.

I think that is about it in a nutshell.

Laurie, if you don't mind can you explain what Kidney wasting is? Also you

mention " magnesium " does your blood work show that you are low on " magn " ?

The reason I am asking I have kidney failure, they are small, and one of the

symptoms is it shows I am low on magnesium, so I take a tablet for it every

morning. Now I thought it was because I take fluid pills for my legs and

feet swelling. I have not had this long, and there is so much I don't know.
