Guest guest
Can anyone tell me if there is a website that you can go to in order to find out how a hospital " rates " on liver transplants? Nikki in NC
Guest guest
Hi Nikki; A place to start might be UNOS: United Network for Organ Sharing http://www.unos.org/ Once you are at this site, look on the right for " quick links " and then click on " data " . Under View Data Reports, click on " Center Data " , and then select your state of interest. The Center Data includes current and historical information accumulated about individual transplant centers ... you can then select individual centers and get reports on each one, including the number of transplants of different organs conducted at each center. However, it's not clear to me whether you can obtain a " rating " on each center from the UNOS site. Perhaps others in the group may know of other web sites where centers are compared in terms of their success rates? Guest guest
Hi Nikki; Another useful site is: USTransplant.Org Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients http://www.ustransplant.org/statistics.html Once at this site click on " Center-Specific Reports " and then Select on " Organ " [i.e. liver], " State " [e.g. North Carolina], and then " Center " [e.g. Duke University Medical Center], and then click " View Online Report for Selected Center " . Then click the gray button " Next 00: Center Summary " or View a different Table for the Center. Tables include Time to Transplant and Mortality.
