I have 4 kids and I know what you mean about all the high carb stuff around

the house. I have set up a seperate cabinet just for my stuff so I have no

excuse to go into the pantry at all. I do have to shop for it but that isn't

a problem for me. Hope this helps!!

Penny..how old are your kids? I have a 6yo boy, , a 2 1/2yo girl,

Kylie, and a 10 week old boy, Zachary. I havent had a chance to get to

the store yet, but that separate cabinet is a good idea. I am going to

wait until I get the book to go to the store and buy all the stuff i can

eat. So I am going to have to make do until then. I think I can

survive.. I can eat eggs and cheese and dry tuna for a few days.. yuck I

know.. but it is a good source of protein.. and No carbs... I was a big

rice junky too.. but of course that is out now...

I am already up to 3-8oz glasses of water. so i am almost 1/2 way there

for my goal of at least 64oz a day. I feel like I am drowning though. I

was never a big water drinker.. but from what I have heard it is

essential to drink tons of water, so I guess I have to. Are all diet

pops okay too.. like Diet Coke..that is my favorite. I would die with no

caffeine.. as I am still battling the no sleep demon named

Zachary...lol... Thanks for all the help.. I am so new to any kind of

diet thing.. i am not sure about anything

Penny and ,

I know exactly what you mean. Lots of untouchables around my house too! My

husband and I have combined a large family. Altogether we have 6 kids!

Kinda like the brady bunch -- lol. Setting up you own shelf or cabinet

sounds like a good idea. Any suggestions of what to fill it with?

Hi ,

I drink lots of water. I'm averaging 80 oz. a day! Sometimes a little more.

I can't drink it from a glass, but when I put it in a sports bottle with a

pop up top It just seems so easy!

I also have been very strict with myself. I am not having anything else

besides water. ok ok, I still have my coffee I confess.

Try the bottle, see how it works!

I just have some pork rines and my shake mix, not much, most of my stuff is

in the fridge and I keep it on a certain shelf so I don't have to rummage

through the whole fridge.

Yes, I saw it and feel as though my little hand was slapped just as I was

opening the loaf of bread! LOL! You're not too far from me. I live in

Houston and have been here for 6 years. I was born in Laurel, Ms. then

lived in Columbus until I was in my 20's.

I cooked a turkey today and we had it for supper, though I kept wanting to

say, " Pass the dressing. Pass the potatoes. Pass the bread. " Ha! I do

love my bread!

I had a Diet Dr. Pepper today, but it doesn't taste the same at all to me.

I bought Pepsi One which is okay if it's really cold, but I think I remember

that I like Diet Mountain Dew okay so will get some of that tomorrow.

What's the scoop on peanuts? Aren't they moderate in carbs?

, who really appreciates this list!

No, Columbus, Mississippi, but I live in Houston now. I've BEEN to

Columbus, Ohio! We stayed in Medina for about a month. Adorable little

town, but quite different to this Southern girl!

I will admit I use the sports bottle a big 48 ozer and it really helps get

the water in I drank 4 of them today alone. But if I use a glass I won't

drink it! Why domn't you drink other things besides h2o and coffee? I'm just

curious. JULES....

don't see why you can't have 1 slice of bread with your tuna.***

Also, Pepperidge Farm makes a bread called " Very Thin Bread " (no kidding!

LOL) that has 8 or 9 carbs per slice.

Jules,

That's what I keep lunchmeat around for. I keep thin-sliced turkey breast,

and baby swiss cheese, and when I'm in a hurry, I just do a turkey-cheese

roll up. I usually have that for breakfast--eating it in the car on the way

to school:)

Also, I'll make a batch of deviled eggs once a week and I can grab a couple

of those as I leave in the mornings.

I've also been known to just go grab a big spoonful of Pimento Cheese Spread

as a snack or to calm my hunger until dinnertime. However, the greatest

thing I find about this WOE is that I really listen to my hunger signals. I

don't eat until I'm hungry, and by golly, when I'm hungry, I eat. I don't

care if I have dinner at 8:00p.m. and am hungry at 11:00p.m.--I go fix a

snack. And I think that's one of the keys to the diet--you have to get away

from the idea that hunger is good. Hunger is not good--hunger means your

body is going to start storing fat.

Anyway, I got off topic. LOL. I'll post any more quick-food ideas as they

come to me. Good luck!

I thought I was the only one that could drink water like that. The only

way I drink water is in a sports bottle.

Jules,

I buy the cubed cheese and meat sticks. those help me get through. Cheese

also, because it is high in protien, helps get the munchies to go away. Makes

you not feel hungry

Hi Vickie,,welcome1

I keep an area for myself also...i usually keep the standard stuff.. all

ready to eat...Doles ready salad mix ,celery and peppers- cheeses

-tunafish-cooked chic-also the veggies, I keep some fried veggies as well..

especially since i can now enjoy them with sourcream & butter! I also liked

to keep , what I call my sloppy joe - for me it's very portable..Its ground

beef, dehyd.onions, chpd eggplant, garlic, peppers, seasoning - topped with

mozz. - I cook it in a big fry pan so I can have enough to freeze some

portions. I also keep some small amts of deli meats on hand so I can make up

a quick chef salad ....

I bought 2- 50oz Poland Spr. water ...I't's my reminder to drink both of

them in a day..getting all the daily water is the hardest for me..

Down 15 lbs now...La
