(Of course when I was going through major depression thanks to meds she's the one who said no go to work you shouldn't stay home. She was probably right but tell that to someone who is going through major depression.) With my insurance I will have to change my PCP. And I just wish they had sent a letter you know!! I will find out tomorrow. I will also go online later and look up info on the antibody tests. Because of the insurance side of it my neuro probably can't test for that so I'll have my regular Drs office do it. And I will also make certain there will be no problems renewing my Thyrolar. IF they say oh you should switch to $inthoid I'm outta there too!!!!! But the PA I saw when I had that head cold was nice. BUT she's the one who prescribed something that could affect my thyroid so I'm wondering if she's the one I'm seeing. Louise > What a bummer!! Hopefully, she didn't move too far! Guest guest Posted May 13, 2004 Report Share Posted May 13, 2004 Louise: It was my neuro that first suspected I had Hashi's and tested me for the antibodies. My insurance paid, no problem. The only problem will probably be afterwards because that's when the neuro will probably want you to go to see somebody else for treatment. Do you have group health insurance? They should pay for any tests any doctor runs no matter what diagnosis. I work in this field. I work for a very large TPA (third party administrator) for group health insurance benefits. At that time Colo had no fault insurance so my car insurance is paying for everything related to the car insurance (ie the neuro, his blood tests, mri's etc.) My regular Dr's office will not accept car insurance, no exceptions. So because I had the thyroid problem diagnosed before the accident I am having my regular Dr's office do the test. My neuro doesn't even know about this (but I will give him the results.)
