Mine was from falling off a horse. I finally got so bad I decided to see a chiropractor and it turned out I have been walking around all that time with a displaced disk pressing on my sciatic nerve. > > I still have a lot of trouble with it but not the unrelenting pain like before. > > Carolyn, That is what happens when my sacral iliac joint misaligns, the piriformis muscle impinges on my sciatic nerve and i have a piece, they call it that impinges on my sciatic nerve sometimes. iriformis syndrome is a neuromuscular disorder that occurs when the sciatic nerve is compressed or otherwise irritated by the piriformis muscle causing pain, tingling and numbness in the buttocks and along the path of the sciatic nerve descending down the lower thigh and into the leg. It is hard to believe just stepping off a curb can cause a misalignment of my SI joint and I am very careful where I step. Bennie
