Guest guest
Hi Rick, Just to let you know I've been a member of this group for over 2.5 years. In all my time here I've never " met " a parent who's baby was mild and CT recommended banding. They turn away many, many parents who's babies are too mild to band telling them to go home and reposition. In order for an active band to work, the head HAS to have holding points. If a head is too mild it won't have any holding points. They don't have to " sell " their product. It sells itself. They are by far the best in the business and have a excellent reputation. I took my daughter to 3 different pediatricians, and 2 different neurosurgeons, not one of them recommended banding her. While they said she did infact have moderate plagio, a band wouldn't help her. I took her to CT in NJ and Charlotte the ortho said she thought WOULD benefit from a band. We banded her and are SO happy we did. She wasn't banded until she was almost 11.5 months old she still received over 90% correction. You can see her before and after pics in the DOCband folder her name is . > > > > > From: " deeman12342001 " <deeman12342001@y...> > > Date: 2004/12/29 Wed PM 01:28:43 EST > > Plagiocephaly > > Subject: Re: funny story (2nd opinion) > > > > Hi Rick, > > >You may have discussed this option already on this forum for >a second opinion but I think > >that going to Cranial Tech for a consult is a good idea, if >you are located near one. Personally -- not to sound too jaded --- I'm a little uncomfortable with the idea of going to the manufacturer for a recommendation about whether or not to buy the product. Not to be overly cynical (for all I know cranial tech may be totally objective and fantastic), but it is a business and I would think they would want to sell as many as possible. We may go that route, but I don't know if I'd be totally comfortable with their recommendation if I couldn't find an independent doctor that agrees. But our impression of his head shape will weigh most heavily without a doubt. > > Rick
