Way to go, Jackie!! Man, I'll take a half pound anytime!! And I'm going to be wishing for even a quarter pound tomorrow night! I have celebrated birthday waaaay too much this week! I've eaten out with friends and family just about every day since Sunday - - and I'm sure it is going to "zap" me when I step up on that scale tomorrow night! Also, I haven't walked as much this week as I usually do - - so I'll be lucky to still be in leeway!! YIKES!!

Helen I sure do hope that you get to feeling better really soon. If going home

to Canada makes you sick maybe you had better just stay down here next year.

helon It wouldnt take me much to live in TX but in canada all our health benefits are paid by our goverment and to stay in USA it would cost a arm and a leg at our age for health insurence ,best to stay where we are and enjoy 5 to 6 months out of the cold, its just a bad spring and from what I see it seems to be allover US and canada,txlbug@... wrote:

Helen,

I've often said that I wish our government would follow the example of the

English & Canadian goverments and go for the same here in the states. I lived

in England for two years and saw the way that it worked over there and I think

it was wonderful. I don't blame you at all for staying where you can get your

medical paid for.

But is it true that you may have to wait for ages to see a specialist ??? My husband had a cardiologist who came from Canada --and he said that the health benefits were great -- but people had to wait for ages sometimes to see specialists ??? Just wondering !!! Thanks, Hugs from Texas, Randie

Hi, in canada we do get out benefits paid for and yes we sometimes have to wait to see a specialist (ages ) no if it for something that can wait it could be a few months if its an emergency like what i had I was in hospital and operated one withing a few hrs, also I have a very sick brother right now and he,s been in ottawa to see specialist, and they have operated him also within a few hrs,,, it depends on your family Dr some move fast and others just take their sweet time getting you a specialist, also you have the choice to ask for the Dr of your choice and You will get him............Hugs helenRandie wrote:
