Guest guest
Hang in there Joy. Don't worry about not responding, everyone gets overwhelmed at times!! Glad to hear Rose's foot is looking good. Charity and Trenton joybelle15@... on 01/26/2001 09:33:35 AM Please respond to nosurgery4clubfoot To: nosurgery4clubfoot cc: Subject: Hello ALL! Sorry I haven't been around much lately. I've been reading, but I haven't had time to respond to all the messages I had kept. We've all been sick and Rose is teething besides. She gets ONE tooth at a time, so we're on a long road. Right now, she is getting her stomach/eye teeth, and she's only popped one in so far. The first part of this month we had a cold and last week we had the flu. UGH! We are also preparing for baby (middle of Feb), and Rose is about to turn two!!! Rose was supposed to go see Dr. Ponseti next week, but we cancelled. He said it sounded like she was doing fine, so we'll go in March or April after we sell our dairy cows!! Yes, we are preparing for lots of changes right now. I've been thinking of all of you and keeping up with your updates. I'm going to try and be around more often, but I don't think it's possible for me to catch up with the prior stuff. I hope Seema had a safe delivery, and it was interesting to hear your news! Also, a big WELCOME to all the new members. Well, I better go. I have LOTS of housework to accomplish, and I better do it before my energy level goes down. I keep wishing for the nesting urge, but I guess I'm one of those who's tired in the last month. At least, so far! Guest guest
Joy, So glad to hear from you! I can't believe that you are in your last month (or should I say, last few weeks) already! Boy, pregnancy sure goes quickly when you're not the one that's pregnant! I hope that you are resting some and that you and your WHOLE family gets over all the sickness that's been going around. My grandpapa always called the flu the creeping corruption -- it rather is, isn't it? ) Hey, I've been meaning to ask you, what do you use on Rose's excema? Sam's seems to be popping up ALL OVER his little arms and legs and I can't seems to find a solution. I've used Aquaphor (which the Dr. gave me) Lubriderm and Eucerin, but they don't seem to be doing a thing. Have you done anything special to help hers go away? Take care of yourself and all the kids (including the new little one). As would tell me when I was pregnant last Feb. " Don't you dare slip on any ice! Guest guest
HI Suzanne: Wow we have a lot in common. Both our boys are 9mths, waking up at night and have excema. My Dr. suggested to me to discontinue the use of the liquid baby wash and use Dove in bar form. She said the liquid is a detergent and drys out the skin. As for a lotion I use Aveeno daily and when it gets really bad I use a prescribed cortisone cream. I was reluctant at first about the cortisone cream, but his face was getting really bad, especially his poor little ears. Also too watch what he eats to see if a certain food aggravates the excema. Hope this helped Sue and
Guest guest
Suzanne, Sorry to hear about the eczema not clearing up. Kathy gave you some great tips. Rose always seems to have a breakout from head to toe when she's teething, so that could very well be Sam's problem (esp the sleep problems, too!). Rose has never been an all night sleeper (well, never a consistent one), so I really have no good advice for you. We had a good old ice storm last night, so I won't be going outside today! Did you get the ice storm at all? Joy http://community.webtv.net/joybelle15/ROSESCLUBFOOTPAGE

Joy, I WISH Sam would get some teeth -- over 9 months old and still Gumby - - and I don't see any signs of a tooth either! Maybe one will just sneek up really quickly. If he's not breaking out and waking up because of teething, I will hate to see what he's like when he actually is teething! Yes, we did get an ice storm here last night. But, since it's warmer here by the lake it turned to rain and them froze again. really had to work at getting his car door open this morning, that's for sure. Be careful and take care! Guest guest
Suzanne, Rose didn't pop her first tooth till she was 10 months. I KNOW she was teething long before that, but it took so long for a tooth to appear. She is just starting to cut her stomach/eye teeth right now, and she only got one in. The other ones don't even look close. I think some kids are really poky teethers. I don't know if it's an old wives tale or not, but people are always telling me that the later she cuts her teeth the better her permanent teeth will be. I hold onto that positive bit of info whether it's true or not. I hope the sleep gets better for you all SOON! Guest guest
Joy, I just read your post about Rose's teeth. My daughter Hailey didn't cut her first tooth until she was almost 11 months old. As a matter of fact, she turned 2 in October and just now cut her 2 yr molars, but only on the bottom! It's not that their permanet teeth will be better, it's that their baby teeth have less of a chance to get 'icky' (for lack of a better word). Since it is so hard to brush toddler's teeth. Hailey won't let me help her at all, and I know she doesn't get all them pearlies in there. LOL. Sorry for blabbing. ===== Clarissa, Hailey 10-5-98, Judd (rt cf) 9-22-00; http://www.angelfire.com/wi/doodlebug __________________________________________________ Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo! Guest guest
Suzanne, Is your baby at the age where he has started to crawl? Right after learned to crawl she decided she did'nt like to sleep or eat anymore. Both were just not as much fun as the new sensation of being able to get around the whole house by herself. The only other times she does'nt sleep well is when she is teething or on the verge of getting a cold (like right now!) After the novelty of her new found mobility wore off she started going right down again at night and not waking up in the middle of the night. It sounded really weird to me at first but the more I paid attention to the fact that it could be her new freedom (because it did'nt seem like anything else at the time) the more sense it really did make. I have to admit, the worst times for us is still when she's teething. Holly and Re: Re: Hello ALL! >Suzanne, >Rose didn't pop her first tooth till she was 10 months. Guest guest
Hi all, Lori, I have been reading your post. I am sorry to hear about Annika. You all will definaly be in our thoughts and prayers; specially this next few weeks when you all are waiting for some dissions to be made. Hello to all the new families out there, I been doing a tad bit of lurking the past week. Someone had some questions about the FAB and snowsuits. I know that JCPennys sells a snowsuit " bag " that we use when our daughter was wearing the FAB 24-7. There is also a company called Apple Tree that makes a nice flease snowsuit that works well with the FAB. A brief intro, for you guys that may not know me. I'm Sara and my hubby and I, have two great kiddos. Ivy our daughter was born with uniltateral clubfoot and hipdisplasia. She was treated by Dr Ponseti at five months old...... Now an undate to all you famillar faces. Boy I am glad to see ya all around. Ivy had a check up in Iowa the second week in August. Things looked great, and I had the privalege of meeting Simmion's mom. (from the Chicago area, sorry for misspelling your sons name) I also saw the beatiful quilt. WOW it is nice. Great job for putting this all together. Holly, your little is a cutie. It's funny I always pictured her as a blond, she has beatiful dark hair and deep eyes. You'll have to watch out when she gets older. We had a house fire August 15. My kids birthdays were the 16th and 17th of August. We are all okay. However we were living in a motel for two months. In that time Ian and Ivy were sharing a bed. We were naughty parents and stoped putting the FAB on Ivy because she was harming her big brother in his sleep. Even with the cover... he was still " getting it " with the screws. She has not been wearing the FAB since. We are now in the process of getting her use to it again. Ugh. She should be wearing it ten hours at bedtime. I have a brother who worked at the World Trade center in NY. We were all quite concerned for him, but he is okay. He lost nine friends in that tradity. I hope your all are safe and well from that. Then to top it off, was working for Sun and was laid off Oct 30. They laid off his whole department and a total of 9% of there work force. His boss is over a number of " groups " and tried to get him transfered, however they were not transfering anyone. It is not a good time to be without work. So do any of ya know of any UNIX programming posisions open send the info our way. We are willing to relocate if need be. Last week he interviewed in the Boulder,CO area. We are going to make an appointment with Dr. Ponseti when finds a job, and before we move. (if we relocate) I hope we haveing let a relapse happen.... Have a great THANKSGIVING! I have much to be thankful for and welcome this holiday. God Bless you all, Sara and Ivy 8/17/
Guest guest
Hi Sara! It was so good to see you post again! I'm glad that things are getting a little bit back to normal for your family, I'm sorry to hear about s job though. It's a tough thing, your right, especially right now. Both my brother and my brother in law were laid off and are going thru the same thing right now too. So many people have lost their jobs lately. My brother and his wife live in Florida (we'll only for two more weeks) and then they are moving here (Michigan). Although the circumstances are not perfect for such a big move, they have been wanting to be closer to family for a long time, so..........now there is nothing tying him down in Florida. So, we are very excited to be near them. In fact, they are moving a mile down the road from us! Wow, I can imagine that poor Ian was getting some big bruises from little Ivy with that brace. I'm constantly telling to " back away " from when she has those things on. We are watching my mom's two dogs (chocolate labradors) and even they have figured out that when is wearing the shoes, don't go near her! She's a loaded weapon! Well, I'm glad that Ivy continues to do so well and I hope all stays that way for your next appointment with Dr. P. Thanks for the compliments on , she is our little dark eyed beauty. I just hope she keeps all those curls! If she takes after me though, she won't. Happy Holidays! Holly and Re: Hello all! >Hi all, >Lori, I have been reading your post. Guest guest
Sara, It is wonderful to see you posting again!!!! Wow, you and your family have been through a lot. I'm so thankful that you were all okay. I'm glad to hear things are going back to " normal " . I imagine it was pretty rough on Ian to be bonked with the brace. I know that when we were co-sleeping with Rose, we got slammed with that thing a couple of times. Poor Ian! I hope getting Ivy back into the brace is still going well. Rose has been out of it since September, and I think it would be pretty tough to reintroduce it... Once again, it was great hearing how you are doing.
