I'm curious how most of your kids looked on this rating form at their worst

points. At 5 months old, I'd say my son is:

1) Between a 1 and a 2 on posteior flattening (although this diagram doesn't

capture it very well). His flattened portion does not cover that much of the

back of his head. It's more restricted to the right side.

2) Probably a 2 on ear misalignment.

3) Between a 0 and 1 on forehead asymmetry.

4) Probably a zero on neck involvement. He he has mild tort, but he definitely

doesn't tilt his head like in those diagrams.

5) 0 on facial asymmetry.

In total, is this good? bad? average for most cases?

it can't hurt to take him for an eval with the specialist. I fyou

don't, you may always wonder if you should have, and then it will be

too late. There is such a small window of time to get this

corrected.

I cried and cried at the thought of a band. My son ended up wearing 3

bands for a total of 11 months, much more than I ever bargained for,

and still I am so happy we did it. The thought of it was tons worse

than the reality. And if your son does need a band, the time he will

be in it will just be a blip in his life.

I assessed my son at 12 weeks with their brachy chart. He was

between the 2 & 3, but with little or no assymetry. He was never

diagnosed with tort. He was banded at 7 mo (I would say he looked

closer to the 2 at that point) and wore it for almost five months.
